Anyone spruce their ride using LED's?

Thanks Jamie. I'm still going to look for a 12V regulator though if I can..not sure how the current brake lights modulate voltage fluctuations but they must somehow right? Do I only need a regulator if I'm connecting directly to the battery?
You don't need a regulator. All 12v devices (including your factory brake light bulbs!) are spec'd to handle up to 15v so it'll handle anything your bike can dish out. You might notice them dim a bit if you have your highbeams on and your fan comes on, but other than that, they'd be rock solid.

awesome thanks, will post up pics if i get it working!
LED's are polarity sensitive (where as light bulbs are not), red is positive, black is negative, your brake lights might be coloured funny so if you have a volt meter/multi meter to confirm correct polarity before you connect them, could save you from a few fried LED strips ;)

And I'm in for pics (or better, vids of the brake light action).

I just did some looking around on my motorcycle and it seems like there is really no space for me to add LED light strips. Something or the other is always getting in the way... pics 2 + 3

The space under the tank is just short of 1/2 inch but on the right side its the air filter and on the left side its the reserve switchbox thats coming in the way :(. The space underneath kinda tapers down inward so the area just outside the air filter is less than 1/4th inch.

There are only a couple of places where I can fit lights with no problems i.e the space under the seat - pic 1 and 5 and under the bike .. pic 4

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Pods instead of strips? Would that solve the problem? Am I SOL?

I'm not too familiar with your bike, but is there a rear fender? OR behind the radiator? I for sure would put LEDs under the seat anyways with all that chrome underneath. For the tank can't you just overlap the LED near the triple tree? Probably not that noticeable, or if you could even tuck it underneath the tank

Something like this???

WOW. That is a moving Christmas tree.

I decided against putting red LEDs inside my fairings for teh glow effect. Went with a more straight forward look and put them on the back of the frame, also convenient to hook up to the brake light.

1. Didn't have to take the fairings off
2. Don't have to disconnect the lights and re-route them whenever I take teh fairings off for maintenance
3. More legal
4. More visibility
5. Easier to replace since these are LED strips from China. The wires are frikkin delicate.

lift your tank up. you will find a nice frame member to attach a strip of led lights to on both sides. zip tie them to frame pointing down, they will light up engine. You can also attach them to your lower frame member. i would put them on inside of frame instead of bottom of frame to prevent them from being damaged from lifting bike up

I'm sure your bike will turn out great!
I've got Wheel lights (9 different colours) that I mainly keep on green.
Like Jeff Jones picture, they don't cast forward. Keep the LED's tucked away as best you can and keep 'em from shining directly out.
