Anyone in Northern GTA III

i can't partake in any rides with you guys until after sunday as i will be doing recon for THE FIRST BIG RIDE OF 2011. As for those of you who participated on the test run, i have fixed pretty much all the bugs (went out with stigz yesterday) and it's waaaay smotther (no u-turns). i will be doing random night rides (look for the thread). one last thing.


TO IRONLUNG: thanks for abondoning the ride u said you were going to come to when you had no idea if i had gotten the gps yet or the route loaded. Really appreciate that. No pm or anything. Could have had everyone from this thread to show up only to find out, there is no ride.

No offense but if the weather is ****, and I know that I wouldn't have been able to do it because of my mesh gear and the weather changes (which I did mention in several posts) I don't see how you feel I abandoned you. You told me you had a GPS, I PMed instructions to both you and 7up on how to get mapsource (without buying a map), which as a new user with no one to help me with I figured out completely. Once you have that its as simple as double clicking a file to open. I even called Garmin and found out that the unit you were using and my parents unit (nuvi 265 or 255) wont hold custom routes, and relayed this information to you. I would have given you my GPS to borrow had you asked, but it seems like I did so much to help without so much as a "thanks buddy" In a private email to my @live account I got an email from you asking to help you load the file cuz you didn't know how, but you need to understand this was not a ride that I had set up. I wanted to help, but I was not going to take charge of a large group of people I know that I cannot lead.

Just so you know, I went out and bought a new jacket JUST for this ride because of how upset I was at not being able to go.

I spent 300+ for a GPS so I could really help (Nuvi 1490LMT)
I spent 200+ for a new jacket so I can avoid this kind of BS.

Honestly I don't think this kind of childish behavior is called for. Calling me out for some BS ride ****. The weather will ALWAYS be a determining factor for me and whether or not I ride, I'm sorry if you don't like that, but I value my life more than how "cool" I look online. 1c with mesh gear? I am not that stupid.

PS - I think internet bickering is pretty weak...

Alright! Fair enough. I apologize for all to see just as I F'ed up and called you out on this thread. I guess I did let u know I got the gps! Lol. I only had 3 hrs sleep was out late night partying. Baaah! Sorry if I came off like a douche, you have been plenty helpful. Let's just say I owe ya one. I'll be pm'ing u in a bit. I'm just out right now.

Since the weather is super wet, it looks like there might be small pockets of time (unless the forcast changes again) that people will use to go riding. I know I will.

Also note that Saturday is looking so perfect I hope its not weather man BS... 18 and sunny means a 8 hour ride for me...

Dude the weather forecasters are literally bastards, trying to plan a weekend not just of riding but of any kind has become a serious pain! It says 60% chance of rain on sunday, for the big *** ride that everyone is so excited about... so as a just in case, I am creating a nice route north, the trip is roughly 5-6 hours, and I have picked rest locations along the way.
 
Sounds good to me. Would love to come. Where ya gonna meet?

60% isn't bad tho. Just pack rain gear and watch the radar.

I'll try to make 7pm (I'll be coming back from niagara) stuck in Hamilton at the moment due to piss rain just before snake road.
 
I'll try and make it to kc. I have to go to the airport at 6.

Btw good news. The street sweepers are out on the back roads in stouffville.
