I am also waiting for 2 sets, 1 for myself and 1 for a friend. No levers, No replies, No refund.
Just go to ebay.
Any news on your levers?
I got some replies from him and then nothing again.
Just an anecdote..there was an article in this month's Roadracing World magazine about a guy who was partially paralyzed after his knock-off brake lever broke off in his hand under heavy braking.. Caveat emptor..
This is the best advise on knock off levers....STAY AWAY!!!
Support a Canadian business and buy real Pazzos. They will ship overnight if you order on their website. The levers, not the girls.
$200 for a chunk of aluminum, couple of plastic bearings using a CNC machine?
Yea, right.
The knockoffs are aluminum and when I got mine, I tried my hardest to bend the **** out of them and subjected them to a lot of force. I don't think my finger muscles have superman strength that will snap them.
This to me is like that scare about that one in a million chance where the gas station blew up cause of a cell phone. Maybe the knock offs he bought were hollow? Maybe they were plastic? Maybe it was some cheap metal? There's too many variables that make it difficult to determine exactly where or what part they malfunctioned and why. If someone can direct me to this article that everyone keeps regurgitating then maybe I'll look in to it.
Many variable that apparently you know nothing about.
Why don't you educate me since I apparently know nothing about a lever that has one function?
First of all, you dont have a clue about the manufacturing process.
Aluminum isnt just aluminum, it comes in many different grades. From the stuff used to make aircraft, all the way down to the crap found all over the dollar store.
Second, production tollerences. CNC machines arnt magic machines as some people like yourself somehow believe. They still need qualified, skilled individuals to run them. Check parts periodically to keep things within spec.
Copies from china use the cheapest materials, steal the design, and have slave labour manufacturing. I bet a pile of parts come out of spec.......if they have specs.
They do only serve one function, to stop your bike. There is a pin on the end of the lever that presses into your master cylinder, couple thou too big and I would imagine it may jam. Wait, it has happened.
Personally I would pay the extra money just to have a tight, smooth action over some cheap crap. But I have brembo and magura, my standards might be a bit high.
There's a write up online somewhere where a metallurgist looked at the knock-offs. Summary was that while there may not be the same quality control of other more expensive companies, the levers were manufactured at a level commensurate with their use. Ie...they were fine.
