Anyone here a cyclist?

Sounds good. I have this for you...16” Trek. It’s always stored indoors, valve adjustment and carbs cleaned, new battery and premium air in the tires . The fenders were removed but I do have them.

I may need to come by oakville sooner than planned. That looks awesome. Thanks.

Holy crap that's a mint looking bike.

Also my neighbors have gotten bikes at Gears..they have a return program where they give you a heavy discount if you keep buying their $250 kids' bike every year as they grow

When is a good time to get them started? My daughter is 26 months old. I was thinking balance bike to get her started on 2 wheels.
It depends on the kid. My son had a few balance bikes. one strider, one terrible terrible mistake with 8" wide wheels that he preferred so he learned nothing. Now he is way too big for the strider so I will pull the wheels of a pedal bike until he gets coasting figured out.

There is no way my daughter could ride a balance bike at 26 months. We will try this year (she is almost 3).

I was going to post this last night but didn't have the pictures ready.

If anyone else is looking for something similar. These are also available in Milton for $Free.99.

My son we thought was too young for the balance bike at 2y old.
He got used to it (turned 2 in july) and by the end of the season in oct-nov he was FLYING.
So now we gotta get him a small bike with pedals to get him going this year and hopefully by end of year we can do small family excursions

Kijiji stalking now for Frog/Cleary/Woom/Islabikes/Prevelo.

Saw a WTD ad on MTB Parts Finder from someone in Collingwood looking for the exact same bikes. What are the odds.

Well, there is a company in toronto with a subscription plan for them (grobikes). It is a source of information on bikes that dont suck.

My son also used a balance bike when he was little.
He asked to take the training wheels off of his bike at the start of last summer , being 5 yrs old.
I thought I would have a nice fatherly moment and teach him how to ride a 2 wheel bike.
It literally was a moment. I held his seat up the street (5 houses) one way and back. After that he was on his own.
By the end of the day he was going off of the curbs.

Part of my was smiling, the other part was preparing for my wife trying to get him to slow down.

Shimano. I use Dura Ace freewheel and crank pullers. Best in the business. Couldn't find a Suntour freewheel tool so I made my own.

Well you gave me some self isolation inspiration.... No fancy CNC or machinist tools just a die-grinder and a MIG welder.... It worked and I got the freewheel off that broke the Park Tool, I had to really pound on it with a giant breaker bar and a BFH.

Used some left over 1" 100 wall 4130 (chromoly) tubing from another project, a 3/4" nut (uses a 1 1/8 wrench). Not sure why I painted it orange though...

Bonus points for ingenuity.

The world's most expensive seatpost shim.

Has the boss seen it yet ? ;)

There's no WEDM machines at John's place, but I use to do all of their WEDM work at my old job.

Social distancing in the shop today, upgraded my brakes on the first gen TCR, I was riding around like a hobo on the Ultegra brakes, Dura Ace now (Couldn't resist, the set was $40!). Those Ultegra brakes were really holding me back :)

Ugh, did 90 minutes of hills on the trainer. I dont really like riding inside.

Totally agree, the TCR came off the winter trainer today, I find it very difficult to get the same workout on the trainer, much prefer hitting some hills outside. If the "lockdowns" get stricter, I may have to put it back on....
