Just to rub it in a bit more :)
You hoebag!!! lol.

I couldn't take it anymore and bought a VPS. Unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, and gigabit connection :) I was downloading two torrents at 14mb/sec for one and 27mb/sec for the other, AT THE SAME TIME!

Damn Linux :( I was able to get nginx set up (to allow GTAM users to download all the WSBK and MotoGP races shortly after they finish) as well as transmission (with remote gui) for the torrents. All I need to do now is get the RSS feed working so it automatically downloads the torrents. Apparently flexget can do it (and drop the .torrent files into the transmission watch folder for auto download), but the configuration of flexget!?!? omg. I did it all using tabs (big mistake), wtf is this double space crap, and why does it even care about indenting? I'm coming from PHP, so this is super strange.

Flexget's configuration is interpreted with YAML. But yeah some stuff is finicky about tabs and spaces. Quick search and replace would have solved your problem, :s/ / /g in vim does the trick

I personally prefer rtorrent over something like transmission, but that's me :) I believe flexget can talk to transmission via rpc so you can skip a watch directory entirely, don't remember for sure though. With rtorrent a watch dir is necessary for flexget.

Vim? don't make me puke! Nano FTW :) I actually installed emacs, still gettin the hang of it.

Yeah, I heard that flexget can talk right to transmission :) I'm having trouble with the RSS url, it requires authentication and I haven't got the userid/password working perfect (in the url) yet.

You're trying to grab them with RFM's rss feed? You can't do user/pass in the URL, it's based off cookies, so use the cookies plugin (setup details here: http://flexget.com/wiki/Plugins/cookies), and you can use something like this to export RFMs cookies to a cookies.txt file after you've logged in.

XEmacs FTW! Nowadays I refuse to even look at a console that doesn't have it. I'm spoiled.

Yeah, RFM. Never knew their RSS feed uses cookies! Nutty :(

PM sent.

Living in the boonies does have some drawbacks, and DSL only at 5k/800 from Teksavvy is one of them...the worst part is that i KNOW the line can support higher speeds as sometimes when i'm playing with utorrent speeds i can get it to go up to 2mb/s for a few seconds before it gets throttled back down to 530ish Kb/s. BAH!

with that being said. Racing for me i only use for MotoGP stuff and i donate....i cannot for the love of me maintain my ratio like i can with IPT.

i cannot for the love of me maintain my ratio
Yeah :( I try crazy hard to seed to the max everything I can, and I can barely keep it 1:1!!! :(

rfm_ratio.png

With my new VPS I hope it'll be easier to maintain my ratio :(

-Jamie M.

I dont know how you guys cant keep a good ratio.

I have over 2:1 ratio on all sites and over 2TB upload on most.
Slower than 71% of Canada, yikes! lol.

And WTF is up with that ping time? Somethin broke bad with your connection. I'd give Bell a dingle and see what's up.

You just gotta get in early, with your VPS's connection you'll be able to widen the gap pretty quickly tafb, here's my latest two from RFM:

I cant maintain the ratio because by the time i DL the thing, and start seeding there are enough seeders compared to leechers that there is not enough demand. The torrents there are in hot demand for a very short period of time.

IPT, i have a crazy ratio for my connection and countlres TB's uploaded. no issues there.

Nice, now I just gotta get someone to config flexget for me and I'm all set *wink wink* :)

Whoah! Not looking too good for Teksavvy!

Still, no trouble keeping a 2:1 ratio at RFM.
