Anyone else out still riding on the nice days?

Awesome 9 - just a lovely ride to the Forks. Coming home with the wind and in the sun - did not even need my gauntlets - just my heated glove liners. Too nice

A little chilly on the Wee strom but great ride. Didn't even realize I forgot to by my Dec16 sticker until I was back home.

Just an awesome day for riding. Felt like April...

Dude in a pick-up pulls up next to me at a light today, rolls down his window enthusiastically cheering & giving me the big  for riding today. I just raised my visor, said thanks, and I'll be out as long as there's no snow on the ground.

On the down side, 401 was covered in brine this morning! :(

Oh-no.... getting into all the nooks and crannies. Make sure she gets a good bath!!!

Both the 25th and 1st still strong possibilities... Ride on!!! :headbang:

Had to break out my full face helmet today...first time for the season, the beanie was making me loose to much heat. Felt nice with the full face and a balaclava underneath, retained the heat therefore my fingers did not get numb.

The 401 was clear of traffic today, was over 120 on the express all the way to DVP, then the DVD slowed down but not bad still. Next week will be awesome with kids and many people off work the 401 and DVD will be a joy to ride and the weather is gonna be better than today!!!!

Riding into the new year is going to be a JOY!!!

Fuel stabilizer slee must be up this year....everyone stabilizing and getting their bikes ready to sleep, and then burning the fuel....repeat. I've already burned 2 full stabilized tanks and am well through my third. Gonna need another bottle of stabilizer before the year is out if the forecast stays as is. ;)

Why winterize until the white stuff comes down? Every year I wait till the ground is white and there is no chance of positive temps for weeks. Even last year with the freak snow in November I waited till late December to winterize therefore got a few rides in December as well when we had positive temperature. Just hold off until there is no chance in the horizon for balmy weather. Especially if you have your own garage, I can understand those who need to drop it off in storage.

If find a lot of people garage queen their bikes, not saying you do it, but I've heard and know of people who have built heated enclosures in their non-heated garages for their bikes because the bike may feel the cold- like the metal will warp or something, also this is in the GTA where are winters are not like Winterpeg. I do take my leather seat and saddle bags inside the house at the end of the season just because it's easy to do so and helps the leather stay soft.

I like the story of this guy who in downtown I heard about from a work colleague i believe it was her neighbor at some point , this guy just leaves his bike on the street all year even in the snow and rain, and just comes out and dusts the snow off on any given day and rides her even in the middle of February. It's an old 70's or 80's BMW boxer, and the bike starts up and runs like champ all the time, I think I've even seen it or some one else s boxer a few years back sometime in Yonge and Gerrard area in the middle of Winter when there was still snow on the ground but clear roads. Now that's hardcore riding.

I don't baby my bike, she likes to be ridden hard.. ;)

Ill be out riding on any decent day still. If it snows and clear and warm the next day I will still ride but once the first truck dumps sand/salt the bike is away until the roads are cleaned up in the spring. People think im crazy still riding.. plus I don't have cold weather gloves yet. Bike show I might just pick some up!

Back in the 1990's I saw a guy regularly riding a 1960's BMW boxer to work all year round. Eventually I had a chance to chat with him. The bike was his only mode of transport and he had no knowledge or interest of any other bikes. He did all his own maintenance and repair and the bike was purely a transportation device to him.

I'm on my third tank of ethanol free premium thinking every fill up will be my last.

Not too different from a delivery driver I met at my shop around 1998. His personal transportation was a Harley Something--this was before I got my license, so the exact model didn't stick with me. Year-round with heated gear, maybe a sidecar for the snows and dropped his kid off at school every day. I thought it was a bit crazy then but here I am now with no car and riding into Christmas with heated gear. As long as the flurries flee, I'll take my time replacing the 4-wheeler.
