Bend it back. This is a common occurrence on school bikes and we always have a hollow metal pole that can be used to "persuade" the lever back into shape. You can do the same with a long-enough box wrench.

Depending on the material of the lever, best case you are able to get it back to the original position, or worse case, the metal is too soft and it snaps, so you'll have to buy a new lever.

Remove it from the bike…then beat your friend with it until it’s back to its original shape .

Or…put it in a vice, put a heat gun on it and carefully bend it back.

I can't see a heat gun making much difference. I agree with the rest of your post.

OP. It sounds like we are assuming that the piece you hook your toe on is bent in. In that case, all of the above ideas are good. If something else is wrong (eg the shaft it is attached to has been pushed into the engine) let us know and post pics of the issue.

You're right. Cops will show up before you are done. Gag the guy first.

yes , the piece you hook the toe is bent in. after str8 it, i found out the bike is now struck in neutral. it can go down to 1 it i press down hard enough, and it goes back to neutral,, but it wont shift up.

Did you try rocking the bike forward and backward while trying to change gears?

EX300s have a fairly fragile shifter shaft mechanism - if you've damaged something internal you'll have to remove the clutch cover, clutch and see what happened.
Or take it to a shop.

The OE lever should be steel, aftermarket could be aluminum.

Straightening the steel one should be easy, pull off the circlip and unbolt the heim joint. At that point you can probably beat it back into shape with a hammer. If you have access to a vice, you might get it near perfect.

If it's an aluminum replacement you can try the same however it's likely to break as as you bring back the original shape.

Take it off and use a persuader gently.

what ever you do, take it OFF before you start wankin' on the poor shifter. The shifter shaft will thank you.
And don't do it in front of the students. Oh wait, that's us.
