I got thinking about this due to parking the cage in an iffy parking lot. Some of these places give out fake parking tickets that are really ticket shaped yellow invoices if you try to beat their system. How would they get your address or other info to pursue the invoice if they weren't police related?

Such outfits will have an arrangement with the MTO to look up your info via your license plate. They usually don't do it automatically however, as they have to pay to get that information.
At least that's how it used to work. I want to be wrong due to them having finally reformed the system somehow
