Thanks for posting guys.
What bugs me most, is the speculation and uncertainty. After hours of research, the obvious occured to me. The best way to settle this is to figure out the facts, the actual EMF measurements.
I called Toronto Hydro and borrowed an EMF meter. These are sensitive EMF meters used to survey walls and under/around power towers and such. I picked it up this afternoon and I've been having fun with it since
It feels like a star trek tricorder, lol and I feel like the biggest nerd walking around chasing these signals. My goal is to measure my normal EMF exposure (from my daily routine/environment) and see if this condo I have in mind, especially in the bedroom where I sleep, will increase or decrease my exposure I'm used to.
I'm still waiting for my realtor to let me into the condo, but driving around with it, here's what I notice:
- it spikes when i turn my car on (obviously)
- ... at traffic lights, it spikes
- ... it a sky-rockets around home appliances, like fridges and microwaves
- ... it also spikes, but not as much as home appliances, when I'm right under a power line!
So basically, what I'm learning is.. there's more EMF exposure when you're hugging a fridge than camping under a power tower.. lol. I'll verify this again tomorrow, it was raining today, and I didn't want to get too wet.
