any gymkhana leagues?

That's a cool idea. They've got "Autocross" or "Autoslalom" leagues for cars (timed runs around cone courses) in Ontario--why not bikes?

I've been obsessed with this type of riding for a while now. I've even dropped my bike a number of times already practicing this stuff in a nice empty lot.

Does anyone know what it would take to organize a competition such as this? If it's feasible, I'd be willing to spend some of my free time to get it going.

If anyone would be interested in forming a league/club/organization with me, or has already started working on it, please contact me! I would love to get involved and talk to other people who know more about the logistics of it.
Do you have to officially register with the OCC(Ontario conferderation of Clubs: http://www.occ4u.org/)? I'm more into the planning and organization of the events.

is your bike properly set up for this type of riding?

That is awesome! Neat to watch the head movements.

vrus, want to split the cost of an f4i with me to do this? we'll put stunt cages on it and level up our skillz on it. What do you say? I know a guy who's selling a crashed F4i and I can probably get a good price on it.

I think it would be pretty difficult to set a gymkhana league in Ontario which is probably why it doesnt exist here.

I participate in autocross and you have to factor in the cost of venue rental, insurance, pylons, timing systems, and a lot of time in planning. While there seems to be some interest in gymkhana, you'd have to build up a lot more to make sure you dont end up losing money. Any sign of bad weather means you're not going to get more than a few people showing up meaning you're eating the cost of running the event out of your pocket.

Not trying to rain on your parade, if you organize something like this, I would definitely show up and participate but organizing an event legitimately will be pretty difficult.

Just get some buddies together and find a back lot somewhere then have at 'er. Eventually you'll outgrow the place or whatever and get bigger and bigger. I think with something like this you need to look small then go from there, instead of trying to just jump out of the gate with a full blown affair.
