Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Sorry but I don’t believe these blind trusts are as blind as they seem…
Especially in that case where you know the majority of the blind trusts holdings and they aren't allowed to sell. It is just a sham. A real blind trust would divest over 90% of incoming assets and reinvest elsewhere with a legal shield preventing the originator from knowing the holdings. Afaik, this has never been done.

Quoting myself only days later.... lol

Some people don't remove the snow when they leave their house / office during the day...almost zero chance of them stopping to clear their headlights while driving.

I think I'm off the EV kick currently. Outside of the F150L there's not much that would fill my need for carrying stuff.

But since I'm an idiot that doesn't know what he wants...I may change that tune again.

I'm not expecting them to clear headlights because it's the right thing to do. Once the headlights get so blocked you can't see wtf is going on, they may hop out and look at the front like a confused monkey scratching their head.

I can only assume it's because they're fast, quiet, and provide a false sense of speed meaning things get hit harder and the occupants pay the ultimate price.
Based on my recent experience, they've overtaken BMW and Audi as having the highest percentage of absolute sausages behind the wheel. Not sure how much of that is related to the self-drive modes, but I've learned to steer the f*ck clear when one is around.

You also have a self-selection problem. Many of the buyers are entitled twats. Add in "full self-driving" and they are definitely playing on their phones while driving. It would be interesting to see stats over time as BMW and audi may becoming "safer" as more of the ********** move to Tesla (and the next cool thing in the future).

EDIT:
Priller has the same idea.

Jinx, you owe me two Coke. Also, great minds think alike, and fools seldom differ, etc.

Nope, but...

Yep. Entirely this. 100000% this.

Who saw this coming? Cybertruck insurance is hard to get and expensive. Some insurers leaning on "armored vehicle" to avoid quoting. Others coming it at 5K/yr with 5K deductible when a lightning is <2k.

Can the owners claim (yell, loudly) Clustertruckphobia? You don't have a problem insuring a H1, and it actually is an armored (light) vehicle.

Classifying it as an armoured vehicle or whatever is probably just an easy out for insurance companies who in reality just don’t want to be left holding the liability bag when the owner gets in a fender bender that results in a $20,000 repair (that would be under $5000 with any normal car) and six months of a rental car waiting for the repair to actually happen since apparently parts for the IncelCamino are near impossible to get.

There was a damaged one parked abandoned on a street in Seattle with broken rear suspension for so long it became an internet meme and people erected a tombstone and were dropping off cards and flowers similar to the treatment "Rocky" the dead raccoon got in Toronto. It got the Orange Sticker of Doom tow or remove notice and is now in a salvage yard on an auction site.

I cannot for the life of me remember a car that has gathered such universal hatred from people. I see so lots of them around nowadays, and while I'm not a fan of the look...it would be awesome if they got the quality dialed in better prior to release.

Even if I was a fanboy, and had the money I wouldn't buy it simply because of the amount of hatred that is apparently directed at it from many fronts.

Not worth the hassle. Would MUCH rather have an F150 Lightning.

The only one I can think of that was close was the Hummer H2, but it wasn't that close.

Hated by urbanites for being too big, greenies for being wasteful, army guys for putting the Hummer name on something so plastic, off-roaders for being terrible in dirt, rednecks for being too 'urban', car guys for being big on the outside and tiny on the inside (as well as the legendarily poor GM quality of the era), and design guys for being downright hideous, it left a pretty niche group of buyers.

Oh, wait, no, I forgot the Pontiac Aztek. That was so universally hated that only true nutcases bought them. It's guaranteed to be on every worst and ugliest car list somewhere. '90s and' 00s GM was such an incredible mess that I still can't imagine buying any GM, even though the new ones are apparently built very well...
