They are ok for what they are, but as with all other first-generation short-range EVs, they will have poor resale value now that EVs with significantly longer range are on the market for similar money. The eGolf is discontinued; it is being replaced (in Europe, where people actually buy cars in this market segment) with the ID3 which is already on sale. In our market, the ID4 which is being marketed as a CUV is soon to arrive. I assume the Focus is discontinued in North America along with the entire Focus car range. So ... both would only be available used.
Lease these ... don't buy. (Same goes for the Nissan Leaf.) Unless you find a used off-lease one that suits your needs so cheaply that you can't refuse, and you plan to drive it into the ground.
