Anti Theft devices

You also increasing the chance by posting this thread. I'm paranoid after mine got stolen. They may be able to track your IP adress and come after you.
If I get a bike, I wouldn't go in any group ride that I don't know people. I hate it when people take picture of my bike and posted here. My be loved busa got stolen just like that. They can be in a ride and take a picture of your license plate and run it after to get your address. As I said, I'm paranoid.

Good luck and be smart!

My only suggestion would be to get a bike cover and a alarm. Other than that the rocking chair and shotgun sound good. What about a lojack? Dont know much about them but i understand it to be a gps tracker?

Has anyone ever tried buy a shed and building it in their spot? I mean condo board would probably have to okay it and it would be best in like a corner spot so it just looked like a place for keeping tools and stuff but if you're willing to incur the expense and (probable) inconvenience of a storage unit somewhere else a $500 shed should be worth it. Again, the lock on the shed could be defeated easily but at least it will slow them down, and you could probably rig something up inside of it to chain the bike to as well...

another thing is if you could convince the board that thefts are a problem, and theres enough riders in your building to warrant this, they could take two or three spots and build a cage around them so you would have to get into the cage as well to get the bikes. Now I know that's not much extra protection but if the board has to keep shelling out to repair cut locks or chain then they might be tempted to make the guards keep better watch, assuming there is such.

Two wrongs make a right:

Bait them.
Get friends (and/or dogs).
Have fun.

Or as I read in another thread

Rig bike with explosives.
Make sure you piss on their graves after too.
