Another track that shuts down bikes!

If they ever get out of power of sale and we return I will have to do that wall again before we can race there and you all should pressure them to do it now.
Now back to ICAR conversation :)

Ken,What is the real reason we don't race at tmp agin? I ask not to be rude I just don't know why it stopped

I don't think Ken likes to gamble with his money, same reason i would never pre pay for a day at TMP.

What I believe none of you are getting here isnt that its TF and ICAR its why????? Hmmmm a track ending bikes because its unsafe? Is it now more unsafe than say the past five years or however long its been in operation? Why now?
My concern from the first time I read it was is this the tracks decision or has the insurance companies pushed for it? Last year was the worse year in my almost thirty years of being involved in Canadian racing with three deaths. Two for CSBK (Mosport and Tremblant) and one for VRRA (Shannonville).
If the insurance companies are setting their sights on motorcycles (again, just like street insurance) how long before we are all effected? More tracks? More series or trackday providers unable to obtain liability coverage at a reasonable rate. That spells the end of everyones fun.
I have no idea what this is about but it is strange the way its being handled, dont even get me started at the Mosport fiasco.
I agree every track has issues and we all as riders make our own decisions on what we deem acceptable, but if there are no providers willing/able to host races/trackdays you may never be able to get that choice.
I find it freaking hilarious what people post about TMP now. Wow how times have changed. When I started SOAR and announced we were going to be at TMP I took TONS of heat (look at some old threads) . People telling me it was soooooooo dangerous and there was no way I could protect that wall. How dare I risk everyone......blahblahblah. The management at TMP wouldnt do anything so I designed a contained bale/bag system that worked well. The staff at TMP wouldnt move them for the cars and they were one by one destroyed so I redid them again in 2010 (again at my cost and using SOAR staff) this time I made a nice lowboy dolly for moving them hoping that they would save them this time. Nope. Someone burnt the dolly (found the wheels in a fire pit). In 2011 we were only there for three rounds and one of them reverse so I used the couple hundred bales I brought for the chicane to add to the wall to get us through the 2011 season. That wall hasnt been touched since and needed complete replacement at beginning of 2012. Now they run I dont know how many days there and NOBODY seems to *****......huh?
If they ever get out of power of sale and we return I will have to do that wall again before we can race there and you all should pressure them to do it now. That wall has bitten people in the past and will again.
Now back to ICAR conversation :)

Good for you. We need more people like you. Seems to me the ppl at tmp don't give a ****

Uhmm, Just like when I asked the TMP track owner what his contingencie plan was if someone went over the burm? He laughed in my face and said " That will never happen". The next weekend guess what? For those that do not know what is on the other side,,,it's a lake,,and deep! So ,,haven't been swimming with leathers on lately but I'll assume by those that did at the old Louden track it's still pretty hard!
For those that assume somebody at the track is looking out for your best interest,,,,,,,,,we need to chat! Grand Bend with SOAR is probably the most proactive track in Canada. The owner gives a $&&&! The problem with ICAR,,, again,, when the Nationals first ran there,, the track Manager said he was not putting "ANY" hay bales out. So PMP had a fight the whole weekend. Not to mention that NOTHING in our sport is designed to run on cement! That track has destroyed more bikes in a low side then any track to date!
And to Ken's point about the TMP wall,,it "will" strike again,,,mark his words.
