A lot of shonky looking providers, hard to know who's legit and who's a scam.
Check out Angel Electronics on Matheson.
That being said I don't this IPTV thing will be around that much longer. The big guys trying to squash it and are pretty close to doing it.
I also run VMedia and they've come a long way. There's an app now for smart TVs and firesticks and it works mint. It's roughly $50 a month.
Do you need their internet to subscribe to their service tho?Check out Angel Electronics on Matheson.

The only IPTV service they advertise on their site, there were no choices other than term. Ordered online last night, the guy called me late this aft to get an idea as to what kind of programming I wanted, and then said he'd hook me up with the most stable server which was cod41.bizWhat IPTV service did you get?
No you do not. I use Fibrestream for internet and VMedia for network TV. 1/2 the cost of the big guys. Better service as well.Do you need their internet to subscribe to their service tho?
Why not just stream it on demand? Ad free…whenever you want.Looking for advice...I want to upgrade my box to something that has a DVR/PVR function that actually works.
In looking at the Nvidia Shield, they seem top-of-the-line but don't come with built in DVR functions. I use my existing box almost exclusively for IPTV and need a DVR since there are only a few things I like watching and I need to schedule recording of these programs so I can watch them when I have the time. Plus I can't stand sitting thru commercials. What a colossal waste of time. I already have an IPTV provider (thx @JZ67 )
Would I have to download some kind of IPTV player to the box as well as a DVR app? I can't seem to find good info on issues like this.

Fair enough., well put. If we weren't getting screwed by these big companies in terms of how much they charge, I'd be more on your side. In my work and daily life, I am just about the most honest, and trustworthy entity you will meet. I already send Bell ~150 per month for other stuff. Despite my best efforts, and due to factors way outside my control, I still have to be quite frugal when/where I can in order to ensure I'm not living under a bridge when I'm 75. Penny saved=penny earned, etc.At the end of the day, legit guys have to pay for content and it is not all that cheap. You want cheap mainstream content, are they paying for the content, is it all the cheapest longtail content, are they cutting other corners, will they be around in six months? If they are stealing content but you are paying, you can trust them, they will not steal your credit card at the end run...lol, trust and honesty is their bond. Lots of free stuff floating around, all works for a while, then it does not. Funny story, my sister (religious) was bragging about their free streaming, I aksed her if she had seen the new movie the nine commandments which really confused her. Then I pointed out thou shall not steal has obviously been repealed...
Bell, Rogers, et al are also doing full IPTV, they pay for the content and sadly so will you.... Haters gonna hate. Some others don't have as much content but you get what you pay for in the end. You can save plenty by going to a focussed provider, say if you only watch Disney movies and nothing else.

BuzzTV XRS4000 and IPTV/DVR app is built into the BuzzTV software on the box.Freddy, what box/hardware are you currently using and what iptv app are you running?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did try Tivimate on the Buzz box, it asked for User/PW for the existing IPTV feed, and my IPTV provider told me their system isn't compatible/doesn't work that way, and couldn't help. You can add an app to the BuzzTv box just the same as adding an app on the nVidia Shield. You might want to try that first and see if that solves your recording issue.
The provider should not have an issue providing you with your account details so that you can set up a separate app on the box with an api extreme codes portal.
