Android app reports keystrokes to big brother...

I'd like a better confirmation than one website.

Ask and you shall receive.

http://deviceanalyzer.tumblr.com/ - Carrier IQ, only on US handsets. Not Canada.

http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/5/2609662/carrier-iq-interview - What Carrier IQ actually does.

http://www.talkandroid.com/76945-t-...idForums+(Android+News,+Rumours,+and+Updates) - T-Mobile and Sprint talk about their uses with Carrier IQ.

https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.simplecarrieriqdetector - Carrier IQ Detector for your phone. On the Android Market.

http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/1/2...hones-and-original-xoom-tablet-do-not-include - Google Nexus phones do not come with Carrier IQ.

http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/12/01/r...t-carrier-iq-is-not-present-on-their-devices/ - Rogers, Telus, Bell, Virgin, Fido and Videotron come out saying they do not use Carrier IQ.

That should be enough! :p

Carrier IQ is partially in iOS, used for reporting back diagnostics to Apple. Myself, like many others when we first turned on our iPhones were asked if we want this to happen, I said no, which keeps me safe from this Carrier IQ fiasco, those who did not, will have something similar to whats going on with Android, though I think its not as deep as it is with Android, I could be wrong. Definitely a bad thing and needs to be corrected, fixed and changed so these things cannot be there in the first place.

the iOS version is very basic and it doesn't have the root access that the android has.

Correction. Carrier IQ doesn't exist in Canada on Android phones.

Sources are above, this is only for US market. Let's not keep spreading propaganda.
