Apparently Toronto Police Service officer in Peel. Still a tragedy. Bleeping crapass justice system. Obviously few details are released yet but the chance that this guy stole a vehicle and shot four people at two scenes on his first day as a criminal is very low.

The US implementation of the system has different types of alerts for different things, and you can choose which types of things you want to be alerted about. FEMA has FIVE different types of alerts:
- Presidential (national emergency)
- Imminent Threat (tornado)
- Amber
- Public Safety message
- Opt-in Test Message
Canada's adoption of the same system uses the same type of alert (the highest) for everything.
Now they're saying the suspect is dead as well, that is 2 now that were said to be in custody, then an hour or two later declared dead.
Same as Saskatchewan stabber.
At some point I hope SIU learns from NTSB and quickly releases concise summaries of the events. The cloak of silence only serves to enforce the complete lack of transparency and accountability.

But I am also referring to the media reporting.
Different media outlets had different versions of the story and how it all played out.
Today, on 680 News radio, when they mentioned it, they were focusing on the 2 people shot (TO Officer and Milton mechanic). Almost leaving out the fact the suspect was shot in Hamilton.
Yesterday (evening) one news article still mentioned that the suspect was in custody.
I mean, if he was shot by one of the 4 officer who allegedly shot at him, I don't think he was ever in custody. Unless he was shot while in custody. In which case the SIU will have to really think hard (and long) how to report its findings.
Yes I do think that the use of force was used correctly in this case.
