Am I getting ripped off?

Negotiating part of the deal. The owner IS NOT responsible for UVIP. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can get it for 20 bucks.

lol.... Definitely got the girls all messed up and got their knickers in a tight knot.. Rob are they tight yet?

Bring it with you. He/she has to sign it...

You are absolutely wrong there. The seller is required in most cases, by law, to provide the UVIP.

Used vehicle information package 11.1
(1) Every person who sells, offers for sale or transfers a used motor vehicle shall provide a valid used vehicle information package in respect of the vehicle for inspection by proposed purchasers or transferees and shall deliver the package to the purchaser or transferee at the time of sale or transfer of the vehicle. 1993, c. 13, s. 1.

This is not a negotiable point. There is even a fine for not doing so.

Dear sir.

Please leave and take your facts and logic with you.

When I saw this I flipped out and flipped my desk that over in anger

After re-assembling my computer I saw this post and felt much better

Yes, its also known as a SELLERS Package!

If your stupid enough to buy a car/bike/etc without it and find out it has a lien, etc on it then you deserve to get burned......

Thats what they have it for. You WILL NOT recive it at a new/used dealer as they have to do lien checks, etc themselves.

OR, as it was stated, you can spend the $20 yourself, and, as long as you have a VIN#, you can get the info you need!
And, it also has a section on the last page to use for your bill of sale.

It WILL NOT tell you if it has been crashed or not. Only if it has been rebuilt/salvage/etc.......

AND, while i'm on that topic, we see it all the time at our shop. CARFAX is a waste of money most of the time too. I've seen alot of crap come in that were "checked" with carfax, that had alot of damage at one point.
That is only good if the owner put in an insurance claim, or the vechile when through an auction as "damaged". If an owner fixes it himself, there is no "history" then.

Yes they are!

Sellers must:
1. Buy this package if you are selling a used vehicle privately in Ontario
2. Show it to all prospective buyers
3. Give it to the buyer when you sell your vehicle.

Yes the buyer can pick one up but why should they. If the seller is too damn lazy or cheap to have a UVIP ready then I say go elsewhere. It’s the principle.

so you can be sure it's the real deal. I always buy them myself.

looking at the photos and it looks like the front brake lever is bent compared to the clutch lever.

I always get my bikes from dealerships so I don't have to worry about this stuff

Dealers sell fixed crashed bikes all the time. Unless, of course, you are buying brand new.

Yeah I know they do that is why I play the system. They offer me a warranty which I gladly pay and anytime I hear/see/smell something off I throw the warranty back in there face. Yes
I know it is not proper but why offer it if you can't use it. lol

The price would be decent if all of the cosmetic parts were good (original plastics, no crash damage, stickers in place). That there is crash damage means it needs a thorough check-over. That the previous owner hasn't replaced a $10 swingarm spool on one side only, is sloppy on the part of the previous owner. Unfortunately, that particular model isn't one that is in high demand (those who want a ZX6R usually want the 2003-on models). The right price the way it sits is probably $2500-ish if it mechanically checks out OK.

Just because it's not a model in high demand doesn't mean it's a bad bike. This generation of ZX6R is a lot more comfortable on sport-touring-type rides than the later ones.

Is that rash on the left stator case?

Unfortunately, sport bikes don't hold much resale value these days and I'd agree with others saying this bike is overpriced considering that it has very likely been down.

However, having said that, I will add some love for the thing.... I have a similar silver one of the same breed, bought it 10 years ago... It was a road bike for 6 years and a track only bike for 4. I have put it through > 50,000 street km & 22 track days. I am by no means a pro rider but I am in the A groups when I track. I have tortured this bike and lay it down in excess of 120kmph on 4 of the 5 tracks within 8 hours of where I live and it STILL is going to race another year. I taught my gf to ride on it and she dropped it 3 times, hell, I've dropped it a couple times too. Aside from oil and brakes, this thing has barely needed any other maintenance. The engine is strong, I can not kill it despite long days in the Oregon heat at over 12K RPM.
High price, but damn I love my ZX-6R J3, these things are durable long living bastards

+1 on the bike being a tank. I had a 2000 model and put over 50000km on it, traded it in to Inglis and saw it running around London for about 3 more years.
You cant kill this bike, and it was great fun.
Price seems a tad high, virtually a given that this bike has been down, but as the previous poster noted they do crash well.

I have an 07 version of this bike as the ZZR600. Its 100% the same bike for parts. From the pics, despite what others have noted, I don't see any damage. The rash on the left side looks more like a bad camera or bad downscaling of the image to me. The clutch and brake levers have independent adjustments on them for comfort, so one could be further in than the other.

It does seem a tad high. You can get a 07 or 08 ZZR with under 10k on it for $5k or less. Also, when I bought mine the 02 ZX6 was considerably more money for insurance than the 07 ZZR600, despite them being the same bike.
