WOOT! I got Jess's birthday present all installed for her tonight! Just in case anyone wants the tech specs:Dont post anything lol, Jamie stop bragin about it lol
WOOT! I got Jess's birthday present all installed for her tonight! Just in case anyone wants the tech specs:
Hindle Full System
Stainless steel header
Oval Polished Aluminum 14" Super Sport Muffler with Polished Euro Style Tip
I removed the old system in ONE PEICE without removing ANY bodywork! WOOT for CBR 125's being easy to work on. And DAMN that factory pipe, catalytic converter and muffler are HEAVY!!!
Went to install the new header pipe but the M8 nuts that hold the stock exhaust flange to the engine were "cap" style nuts, and the Hindle header was much shorter then stock, so the nuts wouldn't tighten up enuff. I used the two nuts from the two exhaust mounting bolts instead and they worked great (you'll need a 12mm DEEP socket by the way). I then went to home depot and picked up some M8 nylon lock nuts to go on the exhaust mount bolts. Once that was done, the rest of the system went together very very quickly. Also all done without removing ANY bodywork!! I polished the muffler and header with 99% rubbing alcohol and microfiber cloths so no permanent fingerprints
Lee Hindle is a personal friend, and he was going to acid etch "Just for Jess" in the muffler, but I decided against it because it might hurt the resale value. The header pipe does say TAFB on the mounting flange though . Sweeet. And just in case anyone doesn't know, Hindle pipes are made in Canada. Their only shop is in Port Perry (just north of Oshawa). Nothing like supporting local business.
Her motorcycle lives in her living room, so it was super cool to work on it in "the comfort of your own home" lol. When I buy a house (again) I'm so making a full out indoor shop :happy3:
Because of the problem with the header pipe install we ran way later then we expected so didn't get to ride to the fund raising event at Shopsy's . And it was also too late to start it up and give her a rip. I promise to have audio/video when we fire it up for the 1st time!!!
