Aliexpress

Is it just me, or has AliExpress drastically increased their shipping fees? I remember when just about everything on their site was super cheap, but shipping was (literally) on the slow boat from China. I was fine with waiting months for the lower price. Now, it seems they deliver much more quickly, but prices are in line with amazon and ebay, in which case I'd rather deal with them.

I’ve moved over to Temu for a lot of stuff that I used to buy on Ali. Spend at least $30 and you still get surprisingly fast shipping for free.

I see Temu ads. What is it? I thought it was a version of Ali Express.

I agree with Adri. I used them to get my crash bars that GP Bikes was asking for $500+tax. I think I ended up paying less than +300 with shipping and import duties.

Also, right now fc moto has a black Friday sale with 15% discount

Gonna print out screenshots of those first four words and stick them all over the house for the woman to see.

What I can get from Temu instead, I do, if only out of loyalty because they've sponsored my YouTube channel, but Ali still has a broader selection of crap I need sometimes.

Last night I spent $20 on Aliexpress for two items:

Lens protector
Ali - $4
Temu - $4
Amazon - $9

AC Power Adapter
Ali - $16
Temu - Not available
Amazon - $27

The good news: I paid $20 instead of $36.

The bad news: Instead of getting the stuff today like I would have with Amazon, I'll have to wait 2-3 weeks.

Some stuff I'll gladly pay a surcharge for, for the convenience of my next day deliveries with prime. Other stuff I don't neeeed, I'm happy to pay 40% less and just wait.

I’ve never considered buying through Ali or Temu simply because…I feel like rip off / cc fraud could be rampant (no justification).

Buddy showed me all the LEGO he buys off it for a fraction of the price. I assume it’s because it’s after LEGO sells the moulds once they’re done.

Also will check for some scrambler parts (center stand).

You guys use PayPal or your cc?

paypal.

I use PayPal as well. They're pretty good about refunds as long as you aren't sending money to people as "friends or family" (red flag for scammers).

Today I had to go through it with AliExpress. I bought a keyblank for a bmw back on Oct. 13th and still haven't received it. Looks like it got held up in customs November 10th and hasn't moved since (so well before the strike started).

AliExpress, good luck getting through to a rep. You have to tell the chat bot you have a payment error in order to get a real human.

Got through to a human. "She" was pretty useless, and then ended the conversation on me. Top points for customer service right there.

But that's okay because between taking screen shots of that conversation, and screen shots of the seller not being helpful, it empowered me to log in to paypal, file a dispute, upload the screenshots, and paypal gave me my money back immediately.

Yes sir, you're looking at a big timer, big spender... a man with a whole $7.25 back in the bank baaaaabyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

That is way too much work just click late and AliExpress sends the refund never had a issue or needed to talk to someone. In my experience the item shows up the day after the refund.

That wasn't an option available for this item.

Always use PayPal. Temu is interesting as their hook is that you can check your orders afterwards and if the price for the same item has dropped, they will give you a credit for it. My last order from them was 100% free. You have to be very selective in what you buy as a lot of it is very poor quality. I bought a helmet holder/wall mount rack and was surprised at how solid the rack itself was, but the screws were soft pieces of junk. So I just used different screws I had from Home Depot.
