I was thinking of ordering a Tire Pressure Measuring System from Amazon (or Temu). But stated to wonder how they work. I assume the caps open the valve to measure the pressure and send the info to the display. If that's the case, could I trust the caps not to leak? That's a lot of pressure for a cap to hold.
Does anyone have experience with these?

I threw $14 at a tpms unit from Aliexpress a couple yrs ago.
It still works perfect.
The cap won't leak any more than an ordinary cap.
There's rumours that rubber valve stems could crack, or break (due to centrifugal force).
Many riders swap to metal valve stems.
I will at next tire change, but I see no cracks yet.

Thanks for the info.
Although, regular value stems don't hold pressure, the just protect the valve from the elements. If I'm correct, and the TPMS presses the valve open in order to feel the pressure, they would be under pressure. You say yours is still good after a couple years, that's a good endorsement.
As for the valve stem splitting, I doubt there's anything to those rumours because the valve stem is meant to be under pressure.

The tpms cap doesn't weigh much more than an ordinary cap, but it's quite a bit larger.
So, as it spins, at hiway speeds, the stem will flex more with the larger cap. It's physics, or science, or something.
I've got a 4,000k ride coming up in a week or two, and it's bugging me that I don't need new tires yet.

I see. That makes more sense.
My back wheel has a steel stem. My front is a stubby, so I don't think that would be an issue.

just curious which pair did you get?

Suggest you get one with 4 sensors instead of 2.
I bought one wirh 4 sending units that was actually less than the motorcycle specific two units.
That way I have two spare senders.
Reads 2 psi low which is fine. $30 US on Amazon and fits perfectly on the dash.
This is the actual unit.

No idea if the solar plate will keep the battery up but not a big deal.
It reads about 2lb low against my compressor but easy to adjust to ...nice to know all the time.
