Advice please: Eastern Townships

Hi, all. I'm planning a trip to the Eastern Townships the w/o June 18th. Any recommendations on "can't miss" roads, inns or restaurants would be appreciated. Given that it's a relatively small area, I'm thinking of staying in one place for a few days, rather than travelling from town to town. Which town would make sense as a home base?

Thanks...

Ahh, fond memories of Quebec. I worked there for a week or two decades ago but didn't get to see much of the place other than Cookshire. I couldn't speak French and the people I met couldn't speak English but we got along great, no attitude. The other Anglo the company sent with me couldn't speak French either but he thought they would understand him better if he spoke English with a French accent.

Sorry I can't help with the roads but have a good trip.

I will. Leaving Monday!

Go through the us. Cross at Kingston on the ferry to wolf island, then wolf island to the us. Head through to lake placid and from there to Vermont, cross lake Champlain. Lake placid area is great.

Having lived there several years, I'd say any roads in the country side around Sherbrooke is worth a look. The inn in North Hatley burned down a few years ago (don't know if they rebuilt it) but the area is nice.

Great advice--I was thinking along the same lines. Wolfe Island is my all-time favourite border crossing.
