adv vs traditional sport tourer?

I have an actual sport tour now, unless your actually going ADV riding , a lot of what they do wont be useful, but they have capacity. Sport touring in essence is not about luggage loaded tours , its a clean T shirt and your visa card.
Buying the wrong bike is expensive and sad. Think about where your going and what your doing, then buy something that makes sense for what you do.

What is the replacement ride?
 
As a life-long Italian, I am used to spending endless hours, which turn into days, at the kitchen table. Goes without saying that the kitchen-table ergonomics of the adventure bikes work well for me.

Riding 15 full years next month, currently have an F700GS, G650GS (650cc single we just got back from a two-up trip to Quebec City and back on), a retro, a scooter, and a cruiser... I honestly like the adventure thumper way more than I should.

Nice looking bike, congrats. If lumber had stayed on the moon, I was hoping you'd pick up the Super Leggera so we could see it cruising around the GTA.
 
@GG , thankyou , I'm pleased. There is a super Leggera at the dealership , $164,000 ish. Even a good lumber salesweasel would struggle to justify that.

I did ride a multistrada , couldn't really dig the ergonomics, and the woody woodpecker front end.....

Actually yes, my usual provider declined, 2 others declined , whatever Dalton Timmons is now took the file . The rate is not bad ($1000ish) for full coverage but a lot of folks get scared by the word supersport .
Oddly my older 916 , which is a small rocket , no problem to insure . No wonder we are all confused with ins .

That's cold, but probably fair

For me, I prefer the roomier ergonomics of an ADV compared to a Sport Touring. A lot more space to move around and more comfortable to stand up to stretch out.

Also love the function of the ADV style panniers that are top loading, huge, and allow stuff to be strapped to them. I have about 180L of storage space combined between panniers/top case/2 30L dry bags, and that's without a tank bag. Also have space for a small cooler for food and end of day adult beverages.

I’ve always been intrigued by this bike. Did you get the OEM luggage setup as well?
