Accomodations near Grand Bend Motorplex

I'm planning a multi-day event at Grand Bend Motorplex, which is at least 3 hours away from Toronto. I don't have a tent or any kind of camping gear, so I'm looking for alternative accommodation options. Has anybody tried any hotels around that area? Anybody tried sleeping in their car?

There are A TON of touristy places in the town of Grand Bend, which is 5 min away from the track. It's quite possible that in summer, they'll be booked up and possibly expensive, though. Never tried any of them - I slept in a tent.

Don't sleep in your car. Spend $50 - $100 at Canadian Tire on a cheap simple tent and an air mattress if that's the only option. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

Stayed at Whispering Pines Motel this summer and it was nice. It was hot at the track so having the pool to use in the evening was AWESOME :D It's pretty close to the 'strip' for dinner and only about a 5-10 minute drive to the track.

We got to the track late one weekend and it was pouring so we decided to sleep in the car and set up the tent in the morning. Was not a pleasant sleep.

I've stayed at both Oakwood Inn and Whispering Pines and they were both good (in different ways).

Consider renting a cottage too. You can get some off strip that are very inexpensive if you're going to be there for a couple of days.

I love that you used "hot", "pool" and "strip" in the same post. And "track" was definitely a bonus.

I apologize for not contributing to this thread.

For accommodations between May 24 and Labour day I would book well in advance. It's a tourist town and things can book up quickly, esp for weekends.
