"A (Mostly) Scientific Ranking of All 140 Neighbourhoods in Toronto"

The Greater Toronto Area has 140 different areas? DO you people know how pathetic that looks and sounds? Are people that desperate for an identity, and so shallow of personality, that they have to "belong" to somwehere so insignificant.

Then some tosspot tries to identify and label each area.

Then people argue about the tosspots report.

Pathetic. No wonder the rest of Canada laughs at Torontonians.

Oh, and HAppy Thanksgiving everyone. Whichever street corner area you may live in.

Ya, whats up with that? I like to divide areas into flooded or not flooded. 140 is too much. Whats the humidity in your area?

140 is too much.

Hamilton is much easier. Just 5 basic food groups. :D

I thought all of this became moot after the big sham...oops I mean amalgamation. :)
I do believe you stated it just right, however inred has this thing simplified...floodies

Hahaha, finally found it, down at 120th.

Man, this neighbourhood ain't the best, that's for sure, but damned if I couldn't find way more than 20 other neighbourhoods I wouldn't want to live anywhere near.

I always thought I lived in Mimico (#9) but turns out I live in New Toronto (#91)....I'm so lost about my identity now...at least I still have my 416 number! None of that wanna be 647!

It is a total load IMO, I wonder where the writers own property they want to sell....

Many bad areas ranked pretty high, many really good areas ranked very low.

Toronto Life magazine. that says it all.

no further questions.

Those rankings are so incredibly ridiculous its not even funny. The problem is they seem to be giving EQUAL weightings to each category of criteria. Like, as if crime has equal significance to diversity or shopping!!!

For example, they rank Wexford/Maryvale #6 overall on the list even though the neighbourhood got a terrible score for crime (#129 out of #140). The fact that housing is affordable and that there is nearby entertainment and shopping seems to somehow compensate for crime which helps the ranking. Thats crazy thinking though as Im pretty sure in the real world people are not going to forget about high crime because they have a lot of places to shop.

Now you gotta change your name on gtam. First world problems!
