Had a Job today and I found out the homeowner just bought a new Ducati. love of his life kinda deal, apparently his garage was broken into and had his bike, his tools, pretty much everything he loved stolen. sad part is he didnt even get insurance on it yet. Kinda feel his pain and shared a tear. Lost my 2007 CBR last year under the same circumstances. a week away form getting my insurance and poof, someone decided they deserved all the blood sweat and overtime it took me to get it more. So to the thieves out there. you really suck. Us hard working people "work hard" to get our toys. but hey. hope it brings you happiness. Cheers.

The loves of my life are insured as soon as they become mine. I'm sorry for the guys loss but seriously...insurance is there precisely for those items we assign value to.

Same as me, Just bought it and was in the proccess of aquiring an anti theft ticket. The above comments make sense. but lesson learned, insure the beast before bringing her home. the best lessons are always the hardest.

would it not be covered under contents insurance for the homeowner, since it was taken from the home? i'm pretty sure my policy would cover this, even if it wasn't already covered by my vehicle insurance. . .

Just last week I put a deposit on a Black/Orange 07 GSXR 1000. I then called the guy on Tues to let him know I had the vehicle package and everything was good and that I was coming to pick it up. He then tells me the bike was stolen Fri or Sat night and he had already taken his ins off of it. =( Buddy lost out big time! It was a very beautiful bike with a lot of goodies.

No, it definitely would not. Vehicles are excluded from your Homeowner's policy.

In a perfect world, anything in your home would be covered under homeowners, I do see their pont of insuring items under homeowners and vehicles under , well vehicles. jeebus man!, they need to make their money! lol

fire and theft coverage for a bike (most supersports) sitting in your garage costs under $20/month pending the time you get it on the road legally. i don't see why anyone would take ownership of a bike which they cannot afford to lose without this coverage.

Sad story..but you put a Duc in your garage and you don't insure it???? Theft is super cheap...stupid stupid stupid.

The 'rod is insured to the teats for that very reason.

Because most insurers won't do just fire and theft.

If there is an insurance company that just does fire and theft LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I try to keep mine as beat up looking as possible.

i have just fire and theft on my VTR right now, but thats because the GSXR is road insured so they had no problem letting me park on of the bikes

Sounds like his neighbor (or someone in the neighborhood who watched him roll it in to the garage) just made a bunch of money.
