Why would she feel compelled to keep the kid of some evil scum? To be reminded of that every single day. Yes, you'll never forget being raped, but putting up with raising something you never wanted is even worse.

And why would I want to raise something that isn't mine? I've dated a girl or two that has a kid from a previous relationship (in fact just about married one) and that wasn't an issue, as I had a choice in the matter and I knew what I was getting in to, and was looking forward to stepping up to being the dad the kid didn't have... But in this "scenario" there is no choice, and since I'm not sure if I even want kids (or even have a wife) why would I want to raise some kid born from this situation?
 
It's always easy for people to say what they would do if they found themself in a situation. That is until they actually are in that situation. A woman who chooses to continue a pregnancy (the result of a rape) should not be judged. Her body; her choice.

First, I wouldn't be able to treat the child the way it needs, so I'd have to remove myself from the situation.
Secondly, because I couldn't respect her decision to keep it, I couldn't carry on like all is well.

Deal breaker.
 
I have two thoughts.. I just know either decision, would be a very difficult journey.

This is if you decide to stay with her..

1. If she has the kid, raising that kid would require a level of understanding, forgiveness and selflessness that a lot of people in this world don't even have towards friends or family. How would you have it for a bastard child?

2. If she had an abortion, the amounts of therapy and psychological affects it would have on your wife, say bye to your normal life because this would probably make it very difficult to live. No more sex, and you would probably lead to resentment because well, like I said above, people are selfish not selfless.

Hell, I'm selfish so that's why I choose to remain single.

I'd leave her.

We can inherit eye colour, nose shape, skin tone, hair colour, baldness genes, predisposition to diabetes, heart disease, epilepsy, cancer and more. Why would it be impossible for a person to inherit an overactive kinky gland? That said, three of my best friends are adopted "Love children" and you couldn't ask for more morally stable people.

One of them married another adoptee who has become seriously delusional in recent years. He has since found out that his wife's birth mother ended up in an institution. The only reason his wife isn't in one is that she hasn't been determined to be a physical threat to herself or others.

All I'm saying is that there is food for thought. Fifty years ago an alcoholic was the same as a drunk. A homosexual was a pervert and you either beat it out of him or threw him into a bed with a hooker to cure him. Maybe fifty years from now we'll undestand the nature / nurture part of what makes us tick. Until then I will minimize my exposure to the Russian roulette of unknown lifelong relationships. I have enough problems with the ones I've created.

Sorry hun that is where you are wrong the morning after pill is no different then taking birth control. You are preventing yourself from becoming pregnant, therefore not killing a fetus. No where close to being an abortion.
