Saw this the other day, nice to see a good story about motorcycling in the mass media, and not you know about something belonging to fallen rider category.
Timing the traverse across Toronto both ways would be the worst of it. You could very easily lose 4 hours one way on the wrong day. There is a 401 iron butt for anyone interested (this is on the bucket list this year before we pop our first baby). gotta do the whole length of the 401 and back (ie: windsor to QC border and back in 24 hours). its a canadian iron butt (1000km) but a challenge nonetheless. this is just another push to do some actual, soul searching riding and not a commute run.
So basically Toronto - QC - Windsor - Toronto? That makes for a long day.
If I wanted a boring ride to get distance, I would probably do laps of either the east or west portion. Something like Milton-Windsor or Bowmanville to QC. Gas up at each end to keep record of distance/time.So basically Toronto - QC - Windsor - Toronto? That makes for a long day.
And with the way the 401 can go...could be a messy trip.
Leave the GTA at 5am, get to QC by ... 9am, turn around and hit the GTA around 3-4pm would be a **** show going west bound until way past Mississauga...it's the timing that'll kill that adventure.
I'd look at a 407 option and pick directions / time to avoid driving into the sun as much as possible. So basically Toronto - QC - Windsor - Toronto? That makes for a long day.

That would be an expensive bucket list item. About the lowest rate is $0.41/km plus entry fee. For 2000 km you are looking at most of $1000 charged. How much is track time? Can you set iron butt on a track? It may be cheaper and it would definitely be more fun.I'd look at a 407 option and pick directions / time to avoid driving into the sun as much as possible.
I was thinking of the Windsor / PQ / Windsor thing but bypassing the GTA via 407. The 401 scares me in the cage. That would be an expensive bucket list item. Are you then violating the heart of the challenge?I was thinking of the Windsor / PQ / Windsor thing but bypassing the GTA via 407. The 401 scares me in the cage.
My wife and I were long distance for 2 years when we were dating, Kitchener to Montreal. I did the drive along the 401 every other weekend. Needless to say this challenge does not sound appealing to me lol.
33 years ago now, babyI like the fact that she thinks her 1990 Wing is an antique motorcycle.
I get that but still have trouble calling anything from the 90's an antique. I refer to my 1980 Kawi sled as vintage but I'd be hard pressed to call it an antique.33 years ago now, baby
