900,000 students coming in…

Inderjit Lamba and Daljeet Lamba, Punjabis preying on their own. I can just imagine what would happen to my WASA ass' food order if I were to ever eat there.

I wonder if he also owns that cannabis store on his shirt?

This crap is unbelievable ... I'm still, in my own mind, wondering what benefits these Trudeau programs bring to our great country.

Whatever miniscule amount there is has GOT TO BE hugely overshadowed by these scams and corruption.

My European parents who immigrated here (along with me at 1 yr old) just, as MP alluded to above, worked their arses off and would NEVER think of screwing over the country that took them in ... heck, I honestly don't think the thought even would have crossed their minds ... it's just not in their genetic make-up and I'm the same.

I can't recall any time I was scammed/screwed over by someone else but until the past decade or so, I'd have been an easy target being naïve ... not any more and a small part of me has sadly become less of a caring human because of it.

Huge population growth allows for larger public sector. Both temporarily hide economy collapsing under weight of the budget balancing itself policies. Is either good for citizens? Obviously not. Jt has never cared for citizens. It is all about number one.

I think were experiencing one of the downsides of multiculturalism - a fundamental difference in trust cultures.

The laws and institution in Canada were forged under the European individualist trust culture where institutions and individuals are expected to operate with high degrees of integrity and honesty and trust is lost rather than earned

In the last 40 years, immigration has switched to China, South Asia, Russian and Middle eastern countries. Collective trust cultures extend trust to groups and individuals that have earned trust. Integrity and honesty are not expected until trust has been earned.

These cultures clash. For example, insurance and social assistance depends on honesty, both can be ‘fooled’ by participants that participate without integrity. Same happens with the sale of things, those with collective trust values are not likely to deceive a friend or relative “just did Desmo”, but may be ok telling that to a stranger.

Our laws, institutions, and public policy has not adapted to this clash. And won’t adapt quickly, so it’s more likely the individualistic trust culture disappears.

Unless you are laundering money a retail cannabis joint in Ontario is a losers bet.
And even then there are far better less regulated options out there.
Or you simply sell the govt stuff to the public, and operate your illicit sales under the cover of a legit business.

Best of both worlds.

That would be a tough row to hoe as the amount of regulatory scrutiny that licensed cannabis outlets are under is among the highest if not the highest of any industry in the province.
The intent is to prevent OC infiltration in the licensed trade.
Still failed to keep them out tho.
Just the price of admission has gone up guess that keeps some of the riffraff out.

On that note, public sector last year grew by about 3% (much of the growth at municipal level). Private sector was roughly zero. Propping up GDP by increasing permanent expenses that need to be funded via taxes is a terrible idea.

There is no way to prevent it. Small biz owners, drug culture staff, lotsa cash, and customers looking for products at a better price or outside the licence guidelines.

Kids at work get their shrooms from a legal Cannabis store. How does that work?

from the ocs stores.. or a dispensary?
There's still a couple dispensaries around me..

That's the Liberal way. Wynne and McGinty started all that when manufacturing jobs were fleeing Ontario. Losing one auto sector job meant adding one civil servant - or increasing civil service wages and benefits to juice GDP. Feds are doing the same, Bobblehead continues to spout off about "Canada's enviable fiscal and debt position relative to international peers” because we have the lowest net debt-to-GDP ratio in the G7. " We don't. She counts CPP and QPP as assets in those calculations making it look like our debt is smaller than it is.

Sooner or later there is no more money for that kind of Tomfoolery economics. After waiting 10 years we ought to have learned budgets don't balance themselves. In 2024, the interest on Federal debt will cost more than the Feds collect in GST.

OCS are the legal cannabis stores.
Dispensaries are the quasi-legal/illegal stores. A lot of them were closed when legalization happened but some still exist.. They get closed down and open back up again... there's also been a bunch of 'shroom dispensaries popping up somewhat recently.

Public sector is an all encompassing term that includes people that work for the cities/regions, province and feds--all are growing. A quick search got me 2021 data so three years out of date but it gives an idea of how many people in each category in Ontario:

As for growth.... Ontario is currently not growing as fast as the feds (percentage wise) BUT Ontario (paid by Ontario) is growing much faster than the private sector in Ontario under the PCs. Also keep in mind the size of these sectors. 2021 to 2021 feds listed 319,601 for the entire country, and 160K (about half) of them are in Ontario... Ontario (paid by Ontario) in the data above was 654,641 and 1.175M including OPSO...

The management of the legal store are making some very poor decisions. The possible penalties that they could face as a licensed outlet are significantly greater than they would be if they were full outlaw flogging hallucinogenics. As a licensed outlet they would lose their license and face some high regulatory fines as well as the criminal code penalties. A full black market shop would only face the criminal code penalty.
One tip to the local drug unit and they are sitting ducks.

Maybe it's not management. Hire someone to sell drugs at low wage, give them a steady stream of people wanting to buy drugs and you shouldn't be surprised if they sell drugs to supplement their income.

A totally new experience here in my Waterloo neighbourhood. The new Anglican Church at the end of my street has embraced Diwali. Lots of fireworks starting at about 7. Huge crowd of people. All of the streets are filled. Emergency responders would have a tough time getting in or out.

Lots of hoopla around Diwali in barrie. Some dipshits were lighting off fireworks until 04:00. Many people unimpressed. I am happy to celebrate multi-cultural traditions but pull your head out of your ass. I would be just as ****** at rednecks launching fireworks at 04:00. Celebrate, invite others to join but allow those that don't want to participate to sleep in peace.
