900,000 students coming in…

... that illegally dump their crap on city/private land in Brampton.

There's an access area just north of the 407 on the East side of Goreway. It looks like it goes into the hydro fields. They're always dumping dirt in their. Someone cleaned up some of it a couple of weeks ago and it's back full of mounds.

Unbelievable the lack of respect for others property/personal space/red lights/stop signs/lane markers/etc etc. in this town. I can't wait for the day I'm outta there!!
Tipping fees are hundreds of dollars, more if the material can't be recycled. A cash under the table roofer can save thousands per week using the Midnight Dump in some farmers field access. The farmer must remove the material and pay the hazmat fees.

EXACTLY! Do we need proper training when they arrive here then? Like these are the customs here: ____, These are things you don't do here: ____, Etc:

My parents were immigrants from western Europe ... heck, even I am too but I came here as a baby. We never did that Sh!t. We were grateful for the opportunity and respected others.

The problem is all of the "good" countries have already immigrated here and we're slowly going down the list towards the putrid 2nd & 3rd world bottom.
You racist swine (I'm Kidding) but that is the problem. We can't have two entry admission policies.

If you're from the USA, UK or Germany etc, you walk through but if you're from a weird little island or nation we have to show you a video on not urinating in public, not harassing women, throwing fits over what went on a home etc.

That would be labeled racist so instead we let racism grow because there no acclimatization to our norm. Please, bring your positive cultures not your feuds.

Show everyone the bloody video. You want in, you have to pass this test about culture and acceptable behaviour. At least that provides a baseline level of knowledge. There are obviously no guarantees that any immigrant (or citizen born here) will choose to follow the program.

filth is everywhere
haiti might be one of the poorest and most corrupt and violent countries in this day and age, i think we have the 2nd biggest number of expats in canada (obviously miami is a lot closer LOL), my parents emigrated in the 70s from what was one of the "worst 3rd world countries" but they both got jobs (teacher and then eventually gov't) and raised kids like a lot in the haitian community.

On a single teacher's salary at first, in today's day and age, it might not have been as possible to do so. So obviously the newcomers now don't have it as easy as the previous newcomers did back in the day, there were less rules, lower costs and a lot more people were in the same situation and had an understanding.
There's a YouTube video on why one half of Hispanola is a crime ridden disaster and the other half a tourist destination. Climate, terrain and history (Politics) all play a part.

A country can design for the climate and terrain and even earthquakes if there is a decent government. In every endeavor, country, business relationship, one can adjust for almost everything but dishonesty. I worry about the direction Canada is going.

This is the problem I’m finding, if you don’t listen or agree with someone all of a sudden they pull the racist card.

No, you’re just an a$$hole.

Same with this. Stop immigration of students because the country can’t handle it - nope, you must be a racist

I can see why some friends are selling everything and moving back to their home countries. They can’t do anything here on good salaries and feel like they fall further and further behind each year.
What about the ones that have no where else to go?

P.S. It's not just Canada. Almost every democratic first world country is having problems.

And now for something completely different....
I know someone that had Carleton as first choice way back when. She now identifies with McGill since she took a few courses there a few years ago. No mention of Carleton on her FB.

Ouch. Carleton is no McGill but I wouldn't say it is that bad.

You are underestimating the amount of corruption and fake documents that go on from one country in particular. My friend told me he just met a guy the other day new at his temple, came here looking for a one month "tourist" visa, border gave him 3 months with no questions asked. Now going to hire a shady lawyer to convert it into a working visa and stay for good. 50k is reported price and will make payments to lawyer until it's paid off. Many getting really rich off of this. Cash, no taxes paid of course.

Hopefully this thread doesn't get shut down due to racist tone.

Also the irony of so many of these "colleges" are %90 or more online courses :ROFLMAO: so why even the need to come here and drain the system when can get these educations from back home?
CBC has a story on Youtube on this subject, again so many fake documents, students have to pass an English proficiency test before they're accepted...of course many cheat on that and pay someone else to do it and come here and need everything translated while in class. Also classrooms are way way way undersized banking on students doing courses online...

Crazy to me how many can quickly get their parents and whole families here to get free healthcare and benefits having never worked a single day in Canada in their lives.
There's a thread about special interest groups. In Canada it is to the point that if you're not part of special interest group you have just become one because you don't belong to one. No politician will ever risk going up against a SIG. Divide and conquer. You can talk economics until you're blue in the face but you'll be drowned out by rants of racism. Get a job in the civil service or better still, elected and let the other fight for the scraps.

2/3 major federal political parties wouldn't even be able to come up with a list of what acceptable behaviour is (we're a post-national state, remember). That in and of itself is depressing.

I agree. Politicians would make this a disaster. Even if you limited the scope to law and did not include courtesy, there would be much jockeying for emphasis and final video would probably be a useless pile of poo (if there even was a video after millions of dollars spent on consultation).

People need to stop voting Trudeau AND Singh. They WANT to destroy this country so get the Global Reset they say we need.
I just hope Poilievre means what he says. I have my doubts. I also wish he didn't buy into the climate scam.
PP is too polarizing. Cons combining fiscal restraint and personal morality may make them unelectable as many people actively vote against them.

You only need to convince the most gullible ~26% of the population that you should be king and you are in. JT (or more appropriately his handlers) are masters at this.

On the provincial front, Lecherous just waded into the pronoun fight and got the unions all riled up. What your kid prefers to be called should be very far away from political oversight. Morons.

Trudeau is a narcissistic, entitled PoS. PP is the boogeyman. Singh is a socialist and visible minority... Opinions are like ******** - everyone has one, and everyone else's stinks.

I'm all for immigration - we need it for a few reasons; but it has to be the right way - Doctor, Engineer, Nurse, Tradesperson (all with the caveat of being able to pass Canadian equivalency) - c'mon in. Legit, as in they will kill you if you return home, refugee? We have a duty to help as a developed nation. Durka-durka, double-double? Sorry, we have enough Tim Horton's workers here....

We don't have enough jobs, enough housing, enough medical care, to continue importing bodies like this.... Canada is something like 30,000 Doctors short in the here and now, and it's only getting worse.

A Progressive Conservative ticket - A fiscal conservative, who stays the eff away from the moral/religious minefield, could run away with the popular vote... But we don't have that option available. PP talks the talk, but he's not cast the extremists out of the tent; and even as a decidedly right leaning person, that scares me. What favours does he owe, and to whom, to get where he is?

Singh is far and away the smartest of the 3 major leaders and probably the best equipped to lead, to be honest - but I can't accept the NDP tax and spend policies...

Both sides (Left and Right) have gotten further and further away, and more and more polarizing - and the average Canadian suffers for it.

You'd think with that many foreign students, that tuition for residents would be free.
Why hasn't the money trickled down to do so?
It's not like we elected Reagan when the U.S. did. Trudeau was in power then.
Time to share the wealth, trickle down, and start lowering tuition for residents until it's free, if we're going to keep the foreign numbers up.
The other no brainer would be to prevent foreign students from owning houses.
You'd have to work on them having resident agents purchase properties for them, but hey, baby steps.
