185 isn't overloading that bike. The amount of air you are pushing will be your enemy.

I saw 2 regular sized dudes on a 125 in stop and go traffic on Lakeshore last summer. I pitied them more than the bike.
 
the "is this bike too small for me" dilemma...

Aside from ergonomic discomfort and performance challenges, it would be an exception that any bike is "too small" to carry just about any reasonably sized person under lets say 400lbs. check the weight rating and this will tell you if you are too heavy, at 185lbs it is unlikely. your height may be challenging but not limiting...
 
Ben spies at 5'10" can (could) win in MotoGP, I think that you will be fine for a Sunday cruise

Not sure if the CBR 125 has adjustable suspension or not, but if it does, you may want to add a few turns of pre-load.
