The red light sensors are adjustable.
I read (on the internet, I think on this forum) that you can contact the appropriate department at the city and schedule a calibration where a crew comes and sets the sensitivity so the bike will trigger it. I have never called in, mostly because I just treat them as a 4-way, or turn right.
