6 degrees and sunny on Jan 6th!!

I'm also stuck at work, but have been riding the last 4 days, including in the -26C weather on Tuesday (sucked, bike wouldn't start after work, had to jump-start off a friend's car.)

Surprisingly nice out so far this month, but then there were days like this last year too. Main thing is to watch out for ice patches and salt. Seems like they've put down more brine around the area today...

Looks like it'll be quite possible to ride to the bike show this weekend. :D

I'm out with the ""City Vehicle"".

Give me about 20 minutes to get home, and I'm definitely going for a ride.
Can't let these beautiful days go to waste!!

I'm sitting in the mechanic's waiting room and already 2 bikes have gone by, I'm as green as you can get with jealousy......

I just got back from a 2 hour ride.........

on my mountain bike.
The motorcycle is definitely away until the roads are cleaned up, at least a little.
There's way too much sand and salt on the roads out this way.

Yeah it was a nice today. Glad i had the day off. Just had a 3 hour ride around the neighborhood, wish the sun was up later...

well there was someone on a busa as I was getting on the QEW at mississauga road at around 2:00pm today and watched them almost drag a knee getting off on service road south....good for your Bro!

Weather was definitely a plus today, looked like a lot of people rode to the show which instantly made me jealous.

You're in serious risk of damaging the battery by boosting your bike with a car. The car battery has way more amps than the bike's. You're far better off getting your friend to give you a nice running push and bump-starting the bike.

From what I've been told, the significant and very important difference between jump-starting car-to-car vs car-to-bike is that, while you start the car boosting a dead car's battery for extra cranking power (presumably from the alternator?), you do NOT start the car when jump-starting a bike. Doing so can overload the circuitry/electrics/battery on the bike.

That said, it only took leaving the batteries connected to each other for about 10-20 seconds before mine had enough juice to crank. I certainly wouldn't leave them connected longer than necessary.

You know the weather is nice when there's a "Whose riding today?" thread from MacDoc in the winter.

I was able to reply positively to all the other threads but I was just too busy yesterday. And I was super depressed as a result, haha.

:D - well at least it's sunny today

You guys are really gonna be ****** when I post Cairns weather :D
24 and a few clouds.....

It is fine to boost with a car as long as the car isn't running amps mean nothing the battery only delivers what is called for by the bike 10a or 100000a battery makes no difference as long as they are both 12v.

the only real risk is the small terminals on the bike battery, close quarters can risk a short and can do a lot of damage in a very short moment.

Best to ground the black to the frame of the bike and handle the red carefully and make sure it is on the bike battery terminal securely before attaching the leads to the car, then put the ground on the car battery, then the red to the car +
