I agree it's a bit on the expensive side yes but this one doesn't need a relay or any fuses that you have to track down/replace if it blows, also each cable is programmable for both voltage and activation meaning that you could install a switch that turns them on or off based on your needs.

It also looks a hell of a lot less complicated and messy to install than your link.

TBH I'll consider both options.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer to make my life simpler and faster by throwing a bit more money at it.
 
I bought the one on the eBay link. I will connect it to the running lights on the tail light and have a beer.
 
Ok, now I know why Blue said group together to buy those 2 port USB; $30 shipping and handling for up to 3 of them, $50 if you get 4-6 and then they add $25 for every subsequent slice of 3. That is a bit nuts
