jesus **** we already did this earlier this year FFS

You need to add "Horribly written question" as one of the options.

It's 288. Anyone who thinks otherwise was home schooled.

/thread

Thats funny because to check your answer you should be able to substitue an "x" anywhere in the equation and the formula should work out.

So if you wrote it:

48÷2(x+3)=288 therefore x should equal 9 < that should be correct?
Everyone jumps to bedmas or pedmas to solve before they simplify!

Its 288 as it follows BEDMAS

B = Bracket so (9+3) = 12
Then E = Exponent, nothing to do here as there are no exponents.
D = Divide so 48/2
M = Multiply so (48/2)*12)

What do you get? 288...

I said /thread, sir. :D

As for the video, how the hell did he get 48÷(2(9+3)) THERE IS NOT BRACKET INTFONT OF 2! Its 48÷2(9+3)

But if you follow PEDMAS. 48÷2(9+3) the "2(9+3)" is the parentheses, which has to be simplified before you can move on to the multiplication/division.
