308 km/h on the QEW

Because he was caught speeding.
Like the signs on the hi ways say, "speeding is speeding".
So 8kph over, or 208kph over is the same (a little extra authority rears it's ugly head at 50kph over.) Otherwise, if all speeders went away in handcuffs............
Well he did get a criminal charge as well.

I am wondering how they pulled him over?

They obviously were not right on his *** with the cherries glowing.

The other questions is how did he decide not to run away?

Had to stop to send a text and post the video ???

Nearly 3 times the posted limit might warrant 'special treatment' ?
I know what you're saying. But. Thankfully for everyone, they can't make up new rules as they go!
Until the LAW is re written......"speeding is speeding".
(I'm going to get a pic of that sign, placed by MTO, on the Linc)
"Special Treatment" often happens while in cuffs leaving the scene. (my kid was a recipiant)

C63 AMG , that cars been played with because they are factory topped at 180mph , he got to 191? before they popped him. Kid was at F1 back straight speeds. Impressive if idiotic.

It was his parent's car so who did the mods? If my kid tricked out the family plod I would be ****** because it's the FAMILY car not his car. Unless there's some insurance fraud going on and it's really his car but registered to a parent.

If mommy and daddy can afford the car can they afford a lawyer that gets junior off?

If enough of these events happen another Fantino will come along and high performance vehicles will be outlawed for sale. No more R6s. No more performance enhancers.

Ran out of gas? Stopped to fill up and cops showed up possibly....at those speeds you can't be able to do a long rip as fuel will just dry up.

I mean it's a nice straight shot on the QEW b/w Trafalgar to Brant...so you have the runway. Almost straight b/w 427-Ford Dr.

A really nice lady I know let her son modify her civic to his tastes. Fart muffler, giant subs, license plate surround that pulses to the music etc. It was a little hilarious watching her drive to work listening to CBC and seeing the plate pulsing.

I had a friend who modified his moms Suzuki swift

mainly just audio
But the back trunk had a huge 12 inch sub in there. His had helped him make a custom made box for it.
Took up the entire trunk area.
the whole car rattled as it went down the street.

Those were the good ol days...I remember high school well....boom boxes in trunks that rattle the trunk and the entire car...good times.

Now....'shut that damn racket off....damn kids...get off my lawn!'

Is this a "thing"?
Because yesterday, while waiting outside in a line up at the store, some db in a clapped out audi rolled by us all, tunes at ear bleeding. But a rattle was all I could hear. As he went by, I saw his plate bouncing, making the painful noise.
And I thought........nevermind.....lol.

Kids! About 20 years ago, daughter is getting ready to go out, i got to answer the phone. Male voice asks if she is there. I ask who is calling, hangs up.5 min later, horn honks in the driveway, and phone rings again. Same thing. Horn honks again. I go out, kids in the Nissan Pathfinder says... Is she coming? I say, who are you? Would you like to wait inside? No man. Walking back to the house, i notice a sticker on the back window.
"Show us your tits... It's the law".
Back to the driver. I don't appreciate your humor re that sticker. Drivers says..."it's my mom's car"
Get the **** out of here, never come back.
Daughter didn't talk to me for about a month.
KIDS!!!

In high school a local guy used to drag race his Chevy on weekends but his mom drove it during the week often with the chalk class numbers on the side windows.

When I was caught at 274... I was handcuffed and taken to the station.. and then released from there.

My guess is dads a 'car guy'. chipping the engine on that is about 15mins and a couple hundred bucks to override the limiters. But it is an 80K car taxed in. His parents can likely afford a lawyer, but he wont be getting off completely. He has a bag of charges so they can probably barter a bit but junior is pooched for the foreseeable future.

As he should be.

He needs a very memorable lesson in reaction times and headlight ability. Maybe give him a dollar store flashlight and put him in front of a fastball pitching machine for a few hours at night.

I had one, a 92 GT. It was called GTi for the first few years until VW sued and got them to drop the name.

1.3L 4cyl, 100hp, 1800 lbs. It was a rocket (in its class in the day) but literally a tin can. Had a blast with it, still one of my favourite cars I've owned.

The previous generation had the 1.0L turbo 3 cylinder, and even more of a tin can. I think those only put out about 70 or 80 hp though, can't remember.

Douggie weighed in. He's not happy. Not much he can do about the current case though. It is possible for him to add a new level to 172 for people that are really pushing it though. There is a big difference between 50 over and 208 over.

So now we wait for the next guy hitting 310kph or higher? You know someone is going to try and top that...

Lots of people already have. Especially on the 407. They just didnt pull over and get the ticket.

Surprised the teen didnt get the obligatory distancing ticket for having his friend in the car while doing something really stupid.
