3 consecutive times, almost got taken out!

The reality is that you can't force a cager to do what you want. If you ever figure out how please let all us other bikers know. You can only control what you do. You can move out of the way and let them in, or you can honk and hope that they get the message that you are there and they should not be. With knowleged and experience you learn to avoid situations that can get you into trouble. There are sometimes time where you get a choice of being dead right or at fault wrong. Hopefully, we can avoid those situations by controlling our own actions.

I'm not debating what we can and cant control. I'm only suggesting we place blame where it belongs. I dont see why one seems to negate the other. If a biker comes on here complaining that he almost got taken out in traffic, I think it sucks the first thing everybody wants to do is condemn them for poor driving habits when there is no way to tell if this is the case. Is it really so important to blame the victim that we outright deny DENY the possibility of a bad driver, in Toronto, doing something illegal and almost harming a motorcyclist, and god forbid, being at fault for a near accident? Seriously?

Its a mental gymnastic called the "just world phenomenon" - The same mentality that says people that get jumped and beat up by thugs "shouldnt have been out after dark". Its lame.

On-ramp merging by cars has become very aggressive, especially if the merge ramp lane is short. And to add more danger, all those goofballs who use merge lanes to pass cars on the right. Whenever I approach an on-ramp merge lane, I move to the lane on my left. Being proactive can save your life.
