3 bikes pulled over

Have you guys heard about the 3 black bikes that were towed today southbound on the dvp? Apparently they were flying down and for whatever reason stopped to one cruiser who proceeded to arrest them. My buddy was riding down as they flew past him and then he caught up as they were sitting in the back of one of the cruisers.

I bet it was south of lawrence. I've seen speed traps all week. One camps at the lawrence SB ramp and the other further south hidden behind a bridge.

I remember telling a riding buddY that if a cop pulls one person over, then the rest of the group should never stop, just meet up down the road. He was generally surprised because he thought the everyone would pull over.

dummies...if you gonna fly, fly.
Don't sit around letting Popo catch up to you...
Sometimes compared to the rest of traffic I feel like I'am flying at 145-150 on my 250, these guys were probably at least 180+ on supersports from the sound of it...

I've seen more speed traps this week than I have seen all summer..

A plausible explanation is that the cops are making their year end numbers. Drivers slow down when the snow hits and everyone forgets how to drive; hence fewer speeders.

Speed traps and the quotas are disgusting, but apparently you people vote for it.

If you think about it though, without cops patrolling everywhere or a fear of speed traps down the road, everyone would be speeding and running stop signs...

I do agree that setting up speed traps at the bottom of a hill is bs though.

Speed traps are f**** bs! Back in Europe everyone flashes to alert you of speed traps, not in Canada, ppl here look at you puzzled if you flash your high-beams, then get nailed by the popos waiting at the bottom of the hill. Morons....
Is there some kind of app or something where we can post locations of speed traps around GTA?

I think theres an app called trapster or something...

I don't trust people to flash their beams to warn me of speed traps cause most of the time they won't. You would get some odd ones that do but seeing how I only have 1 ticket left before SF won't insure me, I wouldn't place my bet on that. I would just slow down in well known areas for speed traps and only got 15+ in areas I don't know.

I know a few cops that told me nowadays there are no more quotas as they're cutting back like crazy. This is for the city of Toronto anyways, not sure if the same applies to York region.

As for flashing people your high beams to warn of traps or cops, I had a friend that got a ticket for it. Obstruction of police or something. There was a trap that he passed and one of the cars he high beamed so happened to be an undercover conveniently heading the other way.

I'm sure your friend thought that the oncoming car's headlight was out and was just letting them know....

How stupid is that? Only in Canada!

"Speeding" isn't a problem, it's a made-up offense to collect an indirect tax from drivers. Speed traps are what makes regular people not like cops and they discredit the authority of police.

Even as a recovered cyclist and pedestrian, I think we need a few more serious injuries to put the fear of metal back into a lot of people on the roads today. A little respect for physics would go a long way to making the world safer.

Ya I saw this **** yesterday, those clowns backed up the DVP from york mills with their cavalry of tow trucks they called in, blocking 2 lanes for a ****ing traffic ticket waste my god damn time..

Trapster idea is nice. Supposedly it shows lines where people running the app drove recently. Unfortunately I have yet to see a line. Guess no one uses it.

Waze has a warning system. I seen quite a few traps posted.

Problem with these apps is they require manual input. So if you pass a 'trap' you'd have to go on, register the location accurately. I don't think I'd be relying too much on people's info. It should have a 'trap verification' where if more than one user posts it, higher chance of it being legit.
