Even the Mantha rate is fantastic for your age. What class license do you have? I'm 22 with an M1 (and even if I adjust the quote to M2 with the course in March...it's the same) the best quote is John Duffy and it's almost 2900 for my '83 GS400E.
Geez i need your money! 2900 is a good rate
Hi guys,
As the title says I'm 21 with a 2012 Ninja 250 and I'm looking for insurance. Just finished calling a bunch of places, not sure if I should list them, but the cheapest was Mantha - $1994 basic for the year. A couple weeks ago I was told by a State Farm agent that it would be $1200-1500. Now apparently I'm not eligible for coverage Does anyone recommend any companies or brokers? Input is appreciated.
Did they give u a reason why you're not eligible for coverage? ie not having your full G license for more than 5 years?
I believe its 6 years now...so he has to wait until 22 if he got his license right at 16.
Thanks for the input. I have had my M2 for a month and my G for 2 years. There are still some other companies I'm going to contact and try to find a better deal. From what I've being seeing on other threads regarding insurance, $1994 seems pretty good.
I just signed a policy with StateFarm 2 weeks ago starting in Feb. I'm 21 with my G for 5 years.
G for 2 years or G1/G2/G 2 years combined? SF looks at the combined time licensed with G1/G2/G. With so little experience with your M, you may be limited on who will insure you if its just for a bike (no car, home, etc).
If you go to college or university, try TD Molloche Monnex. People have gotten really good rates with them since its considered group insurance.
I just got off the phone with a State Farm agent. I was quoted 135/month for fire and theft, which is a good deal...then I told her I got my G1 in late 2008...****. Guess I'll have to wait until next year to go with State Farm.
your quotes are gonna be high until you have at least 5 years on your G. Most insurance companies base their quotes on your G license not your M license. I say most companies because when I had my 250 I went with TD and they gave me a good rate, I paid $1050 a year and that was with just my M1, I think they look at your G status and your M status, but definitely let them know if you are or have taken the course. Hopes this helps, and good luck!
Well you know what, looks like they have you by the balls for the first year. Just eat it knowing that come the following year its cut in half.
