21 y/o insurance

Most insurance companies want one payment. If they do payment plan it is a 3 or 4 month span where you pay 1/3 or 1/4 of the insurance.

There are companies that accept 6-7 instalments as well ??? I was just quoted one a few days ago.

Thats not too bad then. News to me.

But let me guess its is all consective months and summer months. They want to be sure you pay for the full year not just the summer.

I pay monthly with state farm.

i dont know if this has been suggested yet, but if you want a bigger cc bike why not an sv650? no ss charges, its still nice a big to play with the big boys.

Some of these insurance rates are mortifying. I can see why sportbike sales might be impacted.

If you are over 25yo with a clean record, SS insurance is quite cheap through State Farm (or TD if you are over 30yo).

Out of curiosity, for a 39 year old with 1 speeding ticket per year for the past 6 but no accidents, what would a new Ducati Panigale 1199 cost to insure? PL/PD, 2 million liability, collision, fire, theft, loss of use - the works. $25,000 replacement value. $500 deductible.

Jevco has changed their standard 4-pay plan to a 6-pay plan - most of my clients are now putting the 1st one on credit card and then the next 5 come out in consecutive months from the bank account. The 6-pay plan became effective January 1, 2012 for new business, and will be effective March 1, 2012 for renewals.

I have no idea -- you should give both State Farm and TD a call and see what they say. If you are a university alumni or a member of some special group, then go through Meloche Monnex instead of TD (i.e. this is TD's group discount brand).

Thanks - good to know!

Check with StateFarm.
I'm 22 and pay ~$1500/yr on a 2010 GSXR600 (full coverage including collision).

Wow you are so lucky.
I'm 21 GM2 with clean record, checked with Jevco and I got a quote of $2771 a year for a ninja 250, $2546 for an RS125. How is it possible that a 125/250 costs more to insure than a 600? It's not even fair!:angry1:

Shows how even the slightest variable changes a quote. Its why we really cannot use each other as referances to gauge what the cost is going to be.
