2025 rides. Where the **** are you going?

i loved the stretch in california / nevada and want to do some riding in arizona etc.

rode in portugal this past fall and japan before that. i definitely want to head back to japan. REGURAA!!!

Did you go to the US between 2017-2021?
I went in February of 2017 because we had tickets to Hawaii bought and paid for well in advance and my wife and kids would have left me.

I was not happy about it and went kicking and screaming but made it clear I would not be travelling with them to or through the US for the next four years.

We did not - despite my wife’s protestations -so no family vacations there. That prohibition of mine went away after the results of the 2020 election.

(Ironically this summer I was in Chicago for work when a certain presidential candidate was making an absolutely astounding and confounding appearance before an association of black journalists.)

A few months ago my company closed the deal to be bought by an even bigger US company. If they ask me to travel to the mother ship I plan to either offer a flat refusal or make up an excuse.

Since I now live less than an hour from the Montana border and an hour and a half from BC I just plan to ride!
I sold the R1200GS recently, down to a wr250r at the moment but shopping over the winter for a new to me bike. Something with luggage that covers distance easily.
Last summer the wife and I did a ten day trip including the Oregon coast, California redwoods, Hoover dam, Vegas, Reno, Grand Canyon, a day offroading in Moab, then Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and home!
It was amazing, it was fast, and we explored some cool stuff on the way through that we know we want to go back, slow down and explore some more.
We are in a pretty ideal spot in Canada for launching into a multi day tour, however everyday riding not so much lol.

Welcome back! Glad to see you’re enjoying exploring!

'Buddy just suggested a ride to Yukon.. 'Has a friend in Watson Lake. I'm like "Dude, I'm on an FJR... You and your F800GSA go enjoy the Yukon. I like asphalt"

pssst....it is all asphalt We even had a girl on a BUSA do the Haul Road. Go to the Yukon with your buddy.

Sure, lots of asphalt only bikes make it to the Yukon, with little or no trouble.

But you will definitely encounter long stretches of gravel. The Alaska Highway is a never ending project, constantly under construction.

That's true however you can ride into Alaska viaScreen Shot 2024-12-24 at Dec, 24 2024 9.46.07 PM.jpg
and never face a US border officer. ;)

Or put the bikes on the ferry to the Kenai Peninsula. Would not get him to the Yukon tho.
