it is far from dead especially as a money making operation ...coal is dead, no one will fund a new plant but oil and gas will still be play for a generation - the higher prices tho are good for investors and also good for renewables as it prompts people to switch.
if oil and gas subsidies were killed tho ....the transition would be faster.
Tax payer funded exploration and all the tax breaks are a complete rip off to the public given the AGW situation.
At least with high at the pump prices with high taxes it offsets the subsidies somewhat and user pays for polluting in that case.
But then turning around and subsidizing the shite .....
