2022 Day Trips!

Not heard of it, however if you drag the little man onto the map, you'll see that Old Wagon Road where it meets the 51 in the north, is dirt...the little man won't work on Old Wagon Road itself...if you go south on Old Wagon Road, it joins up with Black River Road...that road is paved where it joins the 118, however, the little man won't work on Black River Road either, so I can't tell how far it's paved...hope this helps! :D

In the midst of planning a route, mix of paved and gravel I came across this road - Old Wagon Rd connecting 117/118. I wanted to ask if anyone has done it/is it passable on a motorbike? @shanekingsley

I meant to check it out last year on our Streetcar ride but we fell behind on the route and so we didn’t have time to ride it. It’s not paved, can get pretty rough in spots for a bigger bike and might be best done with someone else joining you. It would be perfect for a drz or something a bit smaller, but you might be able to do it on your bike if it hasn’t rained in a while. There’s a few vids of it online if you want to see what it’s like.

Here’s a little read on it: Black River Road | Ontario Dual Sport Club Forum

And helping dad at cottage. But too much to carry to take the bike :( so I’m driving.

Took Monday off for kids PA day so maybe I can do a 5km ride to gas up for winter.

Or maybe swap to winter tires. Buddy was up near Algonquin today and there’s snow on the ground.

What no f'ing way.... already.
You can already senes the lack of sunlight, did an errand just now and it's just dull blah....

Missed us. But the snows went on the Odyssey last week.

anyone taking advantage of this uncharacteristically good weather to do any longer trips?

I did.

Went for a super long ride today.

Total of 8,600 meters.

To the local crappy tire to get fuel stabilizer and gas station to fill up for the winter.

Came home super tired but enjoyed every centimeter of it.

Nice ride in the Trent Hills and lunch in a quieter Coburg and along Lakeshore (325 kms door to door)

Good colours still in the south.

Went into town for a bite to eat. Turned into an hour-long ride around the city and up the mountain for a nice lookout view before sunset.

Temp before sunset: 17°C
Temp 15 minutes after the sunset: 8°C 🥶

Did not plan to be out that long. Was not dressed appropriately...

Stunning. Sorry, what town is that?

Thanks. That's Kelowna. Sitting on the shores of the Okanagan Lake.
I've been checking out real-estate there. My wife and I have been discussing the possibility of retiring there 3-5 years from now. It would be a huge decision to make.
