“All that is gold does not glitter,
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
"I used to ride an Adventure Bike like you
Then I took an arrow in the knee"
- also JRR Tolkien
I think.
7,372 kms. Is the tire on the right. They are being replaced with Dunlop Trailmax MissionPut 11,000 km on k60s in 2015 on my 650 Vstrom cross Canada, all slab, and it easily passed safety. Numerous reports as high as 20,000 miles on rear K60s including a Vstrom rider in Vermont who got 22,000 miles on his.
Bit hard to tell with the mud on the one but doesn't look worn out to me.
This is tho.....worn and worn out ...different things.
The rider still has sipes on his tire....the worn out tire does not.
Maybe lighter bikes are a useful thing.

it’s from JRR Tolkien. It is also my mantra in riding.

Most of my rides are labeled as “no rhyme, no reasons, no expectations.
I‘ve been watching from afar a few riders on this forum. I’m a LD rider that dislikes itineraries. I’m fortunate to mix business and pleasure while riding. I met MacDoc at a picnic table eating fish n chips on a 1000k day ride. If you see my bike say hi. Been riding sport for +40 yrs. The previous 2 yrs have been on a ADV bike. Always looking for new adventures.
