2019 success stories

After 20 years of smoking and actually ramping up to 3 or 4 packs a day (yes I am ashamed to admit that) I got really ****** at myself and just quit cold turkey.
Proud to say it's been 5 months and I won't be going back.
Looking forward to 2020.

Thanks guys. It's crazy how much better I feel.
My 13 year old daughter recently remarked that she likes my colour so much more now. When I jokingly asked her what colour I used to be she said "grey".

It's a tough addiction to beat but it will get even better for you in the next year. With 5 months in already, just don't get complacent about it and you'll be fine. Hands down the best thing you can do for yourself, your future and, your family! I'm 3 years quit Jan. 29th - never going back!

2019 was pretty good for us. Sold the investment property (reluctantly), sold he town, bought a house, had baby #2, bought the minivan, sold the bike...setup proper RESP/RRSP/TFSA finally...holy ****...busy year!

Here's to a good 2020! Ride safe all, and enjoy it while it lasts!

Open heart surgery at the start of December to replace a dodgy aorta valve.

I’m still here in 2020, so that’s a good sign!!
Congrats! I've lost enough to heart issues over the last 5 years. Take care of your ticker people.

Sold a house/bought a better house. Spent two weeks crusing on our new to us boat, only one fight in two weeks on a small boat, thats a win. Spent some really great days with our circle of friends. Learned some new recipes . Was able to help several friends with projects (which I actaully enjoy).
Stayed healthy.
Wishing everyone the same in 2020

Success stories? I'm holding out for 2020.

Sounds like you've got it all together. Now make sure you and your wife have proper wills.

I was born with defective valve, took all these years to build enough calcium to start causing problems. Plan is to get back to some racing at SOAR this year, anxious to see how much better i can do now that i can finally breathe.

there have been a few threads about this. Proper wills and Power of Attourny (sp?) . Those RESP's for the kids are found money, make sure you max that out every year, gov't giving you a % on every dollar is very nice. Education will never get cheaper and @mimico_polak , you have a great house but you want them to not live in your basement LOL

Managed to fool a woman who's far too good for me to marry me then 4 months after the ceremony found out we're expecting our first born.
Bought land to build our dream home in prime location to dirtbike and sled from our backyard.
2020 to be a busy year with our new home being completed and baby #1 expected.
