2014 Kawasaki z1000

Whats it like on the hwy? Any wind protection offered by that bikini fairing?

None, it keeps me from losing my license in the hwy :)

Beautiful bike but do you not have to inject novocaine into your *** to endure that seat for 8h? I've seen more padding on an Ethiopean chicken.

LOL. It's still an improvement over the stock seat. I use a airhawke seat for the long rides.

I have an 08 Z1000. Love the bike, lots of power and nice and comfortable. The seat on my model could use a little softer padding. I came from an 03 600RR and find the Z to have lots of juice and still super fun. I say go for it.

Ok thank you. I've got the Ninja1000 on my radar for the future but I'll still keep the Tuono on there as well because it's so friggin pretty.

Can't say I like the MCN reviews, they put too much emphasis on track days. In the real world we care about value, quality, reliability, and these stupid magazines NEVER talk about that.

The new Z1000 is striking on the road, very distinctive, and the fit and finish is outstanding. It also won't dissolve in a few years of real use like the other brands.

My insurance agent has wet dreams about me buying one.

Thanks for all the reply's/info...
I have owned a gixxer750 and a ZX6R and both were very reliable. I don't know much about BMW bikes. Would you say that they are reliable?

Hit and miss. but, talk to a BMW owner, and the oil changes even smell like fresh strawberries.

Jury is still out on the long-term reliability of these complex Bosch ECUs and plethora of sensors and controllers.
