Nox, its a bad incident but glad to hear you survived such a horrific accident.
100% agree that something needs to be done with the way CABBIES drive around Toronto. Its getting worst and worst.
Not too long ago, I was walking down Bay St. after work rush hours.... on a freaking SIDEWALK, a cabbie did a freakin U turn that went up at least a feet into the side walk!!! No apology nothing, just stares at us and went his way. YES, the same ethnic group that makes up the most of the people in this profession these days. I have a lot of friends that are in that ethnic group, and even they would say that Canada should BAN people from that area to ever get a cab license.... and they are not even joking when they say that. Like someone said earlier, its how they drive in their home country, that's the norm, and that's how they are transpiring that into here. I think there isnt much one can do. They will always be around and they would only put that influence to local drivers. Not sure if people notice. More people nowadays uses their horn quite readily... and not just specific ethnic group, everyone~!!!!!
By the way, what is the verdict and sentencing for that idiotic cabbie??? I hope he gets a 10 years suspension on his license!
We should petition Policitician to make it more strick for people to get their taxi license as well, put in tougher fines and punishments on commercial vehicle for traffic violation since they are on the roads longer and post greater risk and danger if they were to violate any traffic laws.
Good luck and wish you a full and speedy recovery!! All the best.
