Ok so without the long story I was recently in a crash and totalled my new gsxr 600. Yes I'm ok. I'm looking forward to getting back on asap. So now comes the replacement time. I was heavily leaning on buying a 848 but I think right now it wouldn't be in my best interests. I have extended warranty on the 600 until 2017 and was informed I can transfer it on to a new bike through the dealer is one reason why. Anyways, has anyone had experience with both the 600 and 750 from 2011 and up? The current pricing of the bikes is very close and makes it worth it. Insurance for me barely goes up. So what I want to know is simple. Is there going to be a huge difference in the two bikes? Physically they're identical minus some color changes. Is the extra little bit of power worth it? Braking and suspension are the same etc so what I'm taking from it all is the engine has differences and that's about it. Any first hand advice here would be great. I'm not looking for "I like 750's better because they're bigger" Thanks in advance

Question 2: I like both colors on the 750 and would have a very hard time choosing. What say you?

Is shredded a color? :D

Mostly black but some white so I can blend in with either bike. That's why I buy neutral colors.

Personally I think the black/grey is awesome and classy. But if you like the colorful sporty look go blue/white, I have a friend who is in love with that scheme.

I would go for the 750. I have a gsxr600 too and always wanted a little more oomph without going balls out to a litrebike. I don't think I've heard anything bad about the 750, and don't see many used ones on the market either.

PS got any spare parts to sell off your old gsxr? what year was it?

Whoops, forgot to mention:

I own a 2008 GSX R750 and have ridden a 2007 GSX R600, 2011 GSX R750 and a 2012 GSX R600.

I honestly prefer the 750 a lot more because I didn't feel the need to stay in the 8-9RPM range to feel "comfy". Keep in mind, the bike I have is also tuned and has a full system making the power band incredibly smooth but the 2011 750's power band felt less spikey than the 2012 600's. Considering that GSX R600/750s from 2011-2013 are almost identical, I'm pretty sure it was the CC/engine difference rather than the year.

Also, and yes I know the speedo is off by -10%, I hit 270km/h with 2,000-3,000RPM left meaning that the 750 tops off somewhere at 280-299. Realistically, that'd actually be 270 if the speedo is off by 10% (I did this in a safe private road of course).

I haven't ridden the newer GSXRs enough to tell you how they are on corners but the weight distribution definitely felt like a GSXR (on the bottom) compared to a CBR600RR (middle/top).

On a side note, keep in mind that the "Brembo" calipers they use are only there for looks. They are comparable to the ones from the 2008-2010 generation of a completely different brand.

might buy my old one back for a track toy. Not sure yet until I hear from insurance. It was a 2012.

I like both colors. The black blends in just like everyone else's bike. My old one was a blue white and I do love that it stands out just the same. I wish I could have both to be honest.

You've pretty much ridden the 2013 then. The deciding factor would be the insurance increase if you go to a 750? For me it wasn't that much.

That's a good idea.

Buy a crappy boring and slow bike for the street.

I would get that extended warranty being transferred to the new bike offer in writing.

Rooms... wtf, you are disappointing me...

Pull that trigger on the 848 already. It's in your bood!

Maybe next season. Right now I'd be a fool to walk away from a gsxr. I'll get a better deal getting it and the warranty thing. Jayv I did call and talk to the finance person at the dealership who said yes it can be transferred as long as I am getting another gsxr there.

The 750 has more HP than the 848 does. Also, the first time I met an 848 rider, he pulled into the parking lot to say hi to one of our female friends. He then tells us that he has 4 other Ducati's and they all keep breaking. To top it off, he tells us he dropped $6,000 off the 404 in cash. And finally, as he leaves, he manages to stall his bike 3 times.

While he was talking my friend sent us a picture of a man with a gigantic photoshopped penis on WhatsApp.

I like the 750's better because they're bigger.
Colour wise, I'd go for the white/blue. Classic.

... let me tell you about another so-called wicked guy. He had long hair, and some wild ideas, and he didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...

I forget. But the point is...

I forget that, too.

Only thing bigger is the engine, and 5mm longer wheel base + 7 lbs

This is a no brainer for anyone who has ridden a 600 and a 750. Get a 750...

Not sure why but the seat on the 750 is more comfy then the 600. Personally I wouldn't purchase a 600 when the 750 is there and well supported.

Also has a longer chain by 2 links. What does that mean?

Grab the gixxer!
I had an all black cbr and loved it, but it blends in and looks like any other bike. The blue and white gixxer looks awesome.
If you go with the 750, powder coat the wheels white.
