2013 Demo Days

Ah man, I thought 4pm was the last ride so when I showed up they stopped signing ppl up. I wanted to try the CB500F! I'm thinking of downgrading from my F4i.

I rode the CB500R and its a fun little bike. I would recommend just booking a test ride at one of the dealers. Kahuna Powersports has Honda bikes now you should check them out for a test ride they are generally very good for giving out test rides.

I couldn't compare, being a new rider. But I can tell you it accelerates like a son of a *****, but there's no wind protection so its not as smooth in the top end.

Why downgrade if I may ask?

My F4i is not really fuel efficient or practical. I get 165kms on a tank before the reserve tank kicks in and I can only ride for like an 45 mins before it gets really uncomfortable. I wouldn't mind saving money on insurance either. I want to get a 600 for the track, but for the road I want something more practical.

Or you can just book and reserve a spot and location directly from the can-am website with no pressure to buy anything.

Well, I have to say I had a great time at the Honda demo ride at Sturgess. Went with a buddy who lent me a com set so we could both talk about the bikes as we were riding. Tried the CB1000, NC700X, and the CBR500R. The route was nice, though I was a little disappointed when we turned off just short of snake road. The Lead guy let you stretch out the bikes a bit short of the CB1000.

I was a little surprised that I liked all 3 of the bikes I tried. About the only non adjustment related complaints I had was on the NC700X, I hit the rev limiter about 4 times. In its defense though, I had just come off the CB1000, and it did have power through out the 4k rpm band you'd ride in (6.5km red line).

I'd actually consider getting the cb500r, it seemed smaller than my GS500F, but still fairly comfortable. Certainly didn't have the same power as the other two I rode, but I wouldn't call it lacking. Tucked in I'd expect it could hit 200km/h without much trouble, and gets to 80-90 fairly quickly too. I felt the most at home on it coming from my own bike.

Thats exactly how I feel. This damn R6 has horrible gas consumption

Lucky enough to tried the ZX6R, ZX10R and the Ninja 300 in the Kawa Tour! They are unfortunately not my type! Good thing is the the ZX6R has the lowest seat height of all 600 by far.

The next BMW demo will be at Mosport from Aug9-11, interested parties shall buy tickets for the event at Mosport, and the demo will be available for event participants.
