2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250

Just got this pic. First thing I said was "Oh damn. That looks expensive" :(

I'm on an iPhone so I can't see the pic all that well but.... Why is your oil filter on the ground? Did they drain the oil? They took all the plastics off to get at your carbs?

pretty sure what you're referring to behind the header pipe isn't the oil filter...

OP, getting the carbs out is the hard part, cleaning them is easy. They just need a good dose of aerosol carb cleaner and a good bath in some Pine-Sol, they'll come out looking like new. Might as well have the needles shimmed while you're at it...

and all they did after removing the fairings is remove about 6 more bolts and take off the side panels, seat and tank, anyone whose done it before can have the bike looking like that in less than a half hour...

You are probably right about the oil filter and the plastics. On a 500R you just need to remove the tank and the battery to give you a little wiggle room. The carbs can be removed in about 20mins.

OP - Do your carbs have a fuel filter from the factory? In the fuel rail maybe? If not maybe install one to prevent any future problems since the carbs are already out

TBH: I don't even know if there is a Shell near me, lol, it's all pioneer :/

Yeah, also had them do oil filter/change, I did it at 1000km, and bike is only at 2200 or so, but my cousin said that I should change it after 6 months if it has been sitting.

Asked about shimming, not sure if they will do it, might be a DIY project next winter, as I heard you might need to play with the number of washers.

I'm not mechanically inclined, the only thing I was doing was the lubing of the chain, and cleaned it once due to grass on it :/
